Just ordered myself one of these of virgin,

Although its a 24 month contract you get 800 mins, and unlimited texts and mobile internet so seemed like a good deal to me.

Also current virgin customers can claim 2 months free line rental, saving £60 plus dont forget quidco

Also comes unlocked, ;-)

the way i understand it if you want 2 months free as virgn media customer this must be done over the fone not online so dont get quidco. have just joined and tried to do online and get 2 month free but said call customer services quoting a reference

Sim Free Comparison:

22x£30= £660
£60 Cashback
£600...
For a £480ish mobile phone... with this tariff... compared to Sim Free £480 + O2 Simplicity or similar which = £240/year, this is very nice, just a shame it's 2 year contract...

Hi Res:
kokostoyanov.files.wordpress.com/200…jpg

I find it odd that people who want a cutting edge phone like the HTC HD2 are equally as happy to have it on a 2 year contract?

I signed up to a sim only 12 month with O2 for £20 a month...800 minutes, 1600 texts, unlimited web bolt on and bought the handset outright for £376 - £35 for sim only tariff with quidco.

means you can upgrade a year earlier, which must be a better option considering the rate at which these are coming out

Or even go on the rolling month contract (you just get slightly less minutes and texts) and upgrade at any time.

iphone is old technology, sorry to break it to you.

Super expensive phones will always be around its a luxury item and they sell well.

I was looking on the virgin media site and found this:

allyours.virginmedia.com/htm…tml

It is the two months free line rental. You just input your Virgin Media customer code or something. I haven't actually tried this, but it looks straight forward enough to me.

Hope this helps and people get to avoid the difficulty of ordering by phone.

How is the battery life? I have been hearing its pretty bad.

agreed, in my opinion the only thing going for the current iPhone is the appstore...something which Microsoft will I'm sure be expanding on MarketPlace running up to the launch of WinMo7

the iPhone is currently a better package all round for the mass market, its pretty much plug and play ....but WinMo has more versatility, however its in need of a very urgent MAJOR overhaul, graphically the Interface is pure pants, HTC have helped it somewhat with HTC Sense.....each to there own I guess

As you'd expect with a 1ghz Processor and huge hi res screen....if you disable all the auto updates (especially for the weather) and regularly make sure you shut down back ground apps running then its fine.

Great phone but 2 years contract is too long, specially with Winmo 7 around the corner. Not voting on this one.

My son has just sent one of these back after 2 weeks trial. He was very disappointed with phone and particularly battery life. Gone back to his iphone. Beware if signing up to long contract on this phone.

This phone is also available for £80 for an 18 month contract - same tariff, or £5 a month cheaper for only 100 minutes less calls.

I find the battery life about the same as my 3gs on normal use. Maybe he had the updates going too often. That killed my phone (30% at night on standby) but changing it fixed the issue.

my hubby is going to phone for this tonight when he gets home & is already on virgin mobile
would he be able to get the 2 months free line rental or is it on virgin media customers? :?
if it's just virgin media i'll go through quidco for him instead :whistling:

Quidco is not available if you take the "two months free" offer.

I've just gome for the 18 month contract @ £25

hd2 will be able to get upgraded to winmo 7

battery life depends on usage really i normally get a full day out if it (i charge every night) problem is they dont come with a task manager in the start menu so programs are usually still running without you realising...if you go to the link below you will be able to find a better task manager which makes closing programs alot easyer

anyone with this phone should check out forum.xda-developers.com/ loads of programs for it

you can also play playstation/nintendo/sega etc games on it, its brilliant!

just wish virgin brought it out a week earlyer

If your already a virgin broadband costumer since 3 years costumer do they do a credit cheek for a mobile contract ?
