It has a 64-bit processor, which will become the norm over the course of this year and next.

+1 for AMOLED but look at them bezels oO they give iphone bezels a run for their money X)

its a £250 phone pretending to be a £350 mid range just below the flagships

its a over price £250 phone.

get the Moto X instead.

It is an overpriced £250 phone. cause it's £299.

should have stuck the HTC logo on the back, looks so ugly with the fingerprint scanner at the front too

It can bend space and time!

As the owner of one I'd recommend a OnePlus X instead. Cheaper and better specification then this.

Still voting hot as it's a good price if that's what you want!

way overpriced and not a premium phone nor is it futureproof....cold

Looks like an iPhone 3g

2150 mAh battery in 2016...LOL!

**** poor battery life.

Not unless you are already a giffgaff customer you will have to purchase a Goodybag along with this phone not unless they have changed their t&c's, the cheapest Goodybag is the hokey cokey which is £5

Retro....I thought they'd given up making phones....

(Joke alert for those with a sense of humor bypass - although they do seem to have selected slow as their development pace)

you'll get all the updates within 28 days of release. unlike Samsung who just got sued for not updating handsets

but the handset lasts a day due to optimisation....sooo

Good phone, crap battery.

Lovely phone, fast, beautiful to look, lovely to hold, but is it really worth £100 more than the Moto X (2nd gen).

Don't forget though it's running Android 6 with Doze which is supposed to be much more efficient.

Helps to look at performance of the OnePlus X vs A9...think the thing to remember is both are very nice phones and at this price the A9 is about right price as was way overpriced on launch.

Price this should have launched at to start with. I really hope HTC don't go the way of the Dodo, loved the M7 and been hoping for a worthy upgrade since.

£260 and I'm in...

worth £200 max

Why buy this when you can get a G4, G Flex, honor 7 or Oneplus X for much less???

poor battery life in 2016? shows over folks, HTC will never learn.

I'm not saying this is not cheaper than elsewhere by my lord why would you pay 299 quid for the spec you are getting??

Why compare this to a £200 G4, G Flex, Moto X etc? a better comparison would be a £100 Smart Ultra 6 lol.

£299 for this spec, haha.

I have this on contract as my personal phone, it compares favourably to the Galaxy S6 which isn't as premium to hold and use, the fingerprint unlock works far better on the HTC as well in my experience.

I have been a huge HTC champion for years, even using one now. But they're done. They haven't done anything new for years, my M8 running Marshmallow is sticky, slow and the battery doesn't last a day.

I will not be buying another HTC. They took their eye off the ball to make VR stuff, and they've even said they intend to focus on VR in the future. Want a decent, Android phone? Then get the S6, it'll be this price in the near future.

Ditto to the above. my M8 isn't as good as it used to be with KitKat.

Probably locked to giffgaff - worst network ever. they've got serious issues. plenty of threads on their own forum with the issues related to internet access.

In the future - does everyone type in capitals?

The S6 is currently stuck on Lollipop, you can get Marshmallow beta on it, which massively improves the phone. It's a total dog on Lollipop though. The bugs in Lollipop make me want to dropkick the phone out of the window. Worst Android phone I've bought since I bought a Samsung Galaxy in 2010. Totally crippled by a useless OS.
