Hi,I bought this phone on Tuesday 29 August, but they sent nothing next day.Thursday morning I called them again and they told me sorry, but the phone is not in stock, and they will send it Friday.Friday,today,1 August I called them again and they said is a mistake, and they tried to call all the customers who bought this phone, but is not in stock anymore. The big problem is that I had the intention to send this phone as a gift to my family in my country Sunday morning.I already paid for the transport,a few expensive cases, expensive screen protector. And they want to give me a refund now.But who will pay the extracost+ the costs to their special telephone number.I see on the site that is still on stock but with a different price. What can I believe? This is not a professional company, they could call me next day if they really did not have it in stock.I am waiting for Monday but I am 100% they will not have it,and the operator wanted to finish the conversation only because was Friday 17:25,the end of the shift.Monday morning I will speak with a manager or supervisor. If I will not solve the problem plus the extra costs,I have a good friend lawyer and I will send them in court. So don't buy from mobilephonesdirect.

Mine arrived yesterday:) I didn't have any issues apart from needing to email proof of id for some fraud check.

The area you are in is a grey one (which your good friend should be able to confirm); the contract begins when both parties enter into it - there is no set legal definition of when this is deemed to have happened; the taking of money can be an indicator, but is not as some would argue set in stone. Discussing a delivery date however would seem conclusive proof that a contract had been formed (why else discuss delivery if you do not have a contract to supply). If they make an offer to supply it at a higher price, they are in big trouble - google "bait and switch" (and before the proud residents of rip-off Britain start bleating, I had success explaining this firmly but calmly & politely in the past, albeit with a different supplier).
