I think this seems like a pretty good deal, would 500MB be enough internet for a phone like this?
Why is this cold?

It is for most...unless your streaming a lot of music and video 500mb is plenty.
You're joking about 500mb. I was looking at my data useage and have done 131mb in 2 days. Yes about 40mb of that was a quick blast of sky go but it's amazing how quickly it goes...

idprefer to spend £499 to get it sim free and just get a discount on my existing contract...that would be the sensible thing to do

That works out to be £20.79 over 24 months for the phone only so leaves 6 quid for your tariff

I've not gone over 250mb and go on Facebook a couple of times a day browse ebay and go on a few websites for about half an hour a day on my lunch not streamed videos so can't comment how much that uses but can imagine its a lot.
I thought you got the media streamer with this phone on pre-order?
Maybe £40.00 TBC also
I've also been looking at this phone and if you want to go the downgrade route mentioned Here then you can possibly get this phone for around £341.40

Calculations
-------------------

Basic monthly rate - £32

Remove Data Bolt on (-£6/month)

Downgrade contract after 9 months (£10.50/month for last 14 months)

Payment for first 9 months - £26/month
Payment for last 15 months - £10.50/month

(26 x 9) "£234"
+
(10.5 x 15) "157.9"
= £391

Minus £50.50 TCB
----------------------
Total Price - £341.40 Link
----------------------
Or for the HTC ONE S

+ Minus £60 automatic cashback

----------------------
Total Price - £281.40 Link

Both include the HTC Medialink HD
----------------------

Or actually just use the above posted deal and do the same to get it for £306.50 not sure if you get the HTC Medialink HD though
(21 x 9) "189"
+
(10.5 x 15) "157.9"
= £346.90

Minus £40.40 TCB

-----------------------
£306.50
-----------------------

and if you do the above... HAHAHAHAHAHA

wont work.

Here are the reasons why

1) - you cant downgrade a 24 month contract in month 9. 12 IS THE MIN.

2) when you downgrade you go the next lowest tariff... i.e. 15.50 a month so

consider the above end price will be....

Basic monthly rate - £32

Remove Data Bolt on (-£6/month)

Downgrade contract after 12 months (£15.50/month for last 12 months)

Payment for first 12 months - £26/month
Payment for last 12 months - £15.50/month

(26 x 12) "£312"
+
(15.5 x 12) "186"
= £498

Minus £50.50 TCB
----------------------
Total Price - £447.50 Link

Cheers for that ended up upgrading my existing contract through phone's 4u and got free phone, 900 mins, unltd txt and 1gb data for 31 pound a month inc the 2 swapables. Not the best deal going but was desperate to have the phone.
No idea why this is cold. There is no better deal for that number of minutes.

It's the same mins/sms/data as I am on now and I will be using this deal when I negotiate with Vodafone. 500MB is 500MB. Plenty for me. You can't vote this cold because you use more than that.
