Now don't slate me this is my first deal I have posted.

To buy this handset sim free as far as I can see this would cost between £480 and £500 you would then need to still purchase a sim only plan. So this seems quite a good alternative and a 12 month contract cant be bad. Means you can spread the cost over the 12 months.

Quidco is normally £50 however currently quidco is paying £65 on this for the next 4 days so that would be even cheaper.

12x£36 = £432
Handset £109.99
Minus £65.00 quidco
Total £476

Even if quidco doesnt pay out £541 would not to bad considering the handset is near on £500 and you can pay it off over the 12 months.

If you can live with 500mb this seems like a winner.

This also comes with the free HTC media link.

Does this come unlocked?

i think most dial a phone phones come unlocked but you can never be certain till you get it.

free htc medialink as well - might want to add to description
If voda had offered a lot more data, just a few more mins and their 3g coverage was similar to the three network, I would snap this up straight away!
Still a good deal though so heat added!

Best deal I've seen yet.

What I would really like to know though is that If we wait a little while until the phone is actually released, are we likely to start seeing better deals then?

This is the only thing that is putting me off, I'd hate the thought of something better coming along!

me too. i am going to get this, but will wait till itsreleased to see if there are better deals. but this is the best deal so far
Must be 1.5Ghz in turbo mode.
Even though the heat from the iPad is caused by the screen I can't see the full 6Ghz running inside such a small package.
Cold. Wait for release as you get better deals then.
Vodafone is terrible for 3g which would put me off a bit... Hmmm

Its a quad core 1.5Ghz. That means it can run 4 processes all at max 1.5Ghz , not 6Ghz.
It will be a long time before any apps require 4 cores to run. I'd agree with Sony, there is no need for 4 cores with todays apps, still, I'm going to get one anyway
Remember you also get a free Media Link HD worth upto £80, you can flog this to make it cheaper if you don't use it.

Also, you get Vodafone test drive for 3 months, you can use as much data as you like for 3 months (_;)
Nice short contract
It will run the full 1.5Ghz only on one core, maybe 2 if lucky
If 4 Cores are running they will almost certainly be underclocked to something like 1Ghz each for 4X 1Ghz not 4

Either way, its still doubly fast.
£65 quidco for the next 2 days too.

By far the best deal on this handset at the moment. Heat added.
Anyone know if you can get this and then pay off the contract straight away and save the VAT? Would make it cheaper than PAYG price with the thrown in media link. Never used Vodaphone so don't know how they work.

Did a quick search seems VAT is exempt. Happy days if this is the case.

A VF tech team guy responding to a similar question at the VF forums:

The guys here are spot on - the amount is your remaining commitment without VAT, whilst the 2% is paid but then refunded with the final invoice.

Hmmm, Thanks ex student. I'm out of contract on Monday with T-Mobile so will see what's occurring.
Argh, T-Mobile didn't have upgrade prices and CPW (I hate them with a passion) didn't have a price either.

You'd lose the quidco cashback.
If you guys are employed by the police, NHS, etc... this may also help...

vodafone.co.uk/vea

You have to do it within 30 days of the contract being taken out and also need to go to a vodafone shop with proof of where you work... this will entitle you to an extra 20% discount....

For those who are entitled to it.... it will work out as:

12 x £29 = 345.60
Handset £109.99
Minus £65.00 quidco
Total = 390.59
HOT, this phone destroys everything on the market. I think the European one is Tegra 3 but the American version is a snapdragon. Early benchmarks point to be the quad core snap dragon being better which is a bit of a shame

The Qualcomm chip is dual-core...even more embarrassingly for nVidia.

Wow thats a shock, I imagine the Tegra 3 will be better for gaming though. I think its best to wait for some more benchmarks.

I was told by Vodafone that you need to buy directly through one of their channels for this to apply. I took out a contract through mobiles.co.uk las year, which I had to return, as Voda rejected the Employee Advantage paperwork due to the contract not being taken out directly though them.

It will be best to wait for benchmarks, yes. I suspect the nVidia chip will be better for gaming, Adreno GPUs are infamously weak.

I bought my phone through phones4u and was told the same thing by vodafone but it still went through on my SGS2 contract...... it depends on who u get looking at your account I guess... I was already with vodafone and the SGS2 was a new contract added to my existing account somehow so they accepted it.

I think it is better to not trust benchmark ... They can be tricked for one and for two, I would easily take the tegra 3 quad core purely for tegra zone and optimised games, plus quad-core is the future

Anyone think dual-core could handle this?

It's actually 79.99 on there for the HTC One X Version....

Is there a link to the vodaphone test drive? I could live with this contract if I had unlimited data for the first 3 months as I'd then like to pay off the contract (and hopefully had my quidco by then)

Why?
Hot deal, but I'm resisting based on the lack of memory card slot. Hoping that these bargains will bring the note down in price a bit more.
Risky , this phones not been properly reviewed yet has it?

Not risky at all...HTC aren't likely to release a poor top end phone.
Hot ordered this a few days ago, quidco didn't track so submitted a missing claim. I'll wait for cashback to be paid before paying off the contract.

Also keeping one eye on the SGS3 as that could very well be my next phone if better than the HTC.
