Yes it is, what's wrong with it?

Review here, main issues for me would be resistive screen and slow 3G. But all depends on what your needs are

Ooops edit the no 3G to the slower 3G standard, but no wifi.

resistive screen and no wifi are big downsides, but at such a low price there's bound to be something missing o.O

Even if a mobile phone did not come with a charger it is still an electrical device.

And there's still a dedicated section for mobiles

Smartphones are also computers and entertainment devices. They can belong to any section. Does it really bother you that much that you have to complain about it?

essentially it boils down to "I don't understand why they wouldn't use Android" - the economic argument is largely rubbish, the only conceivable reason is to purposely give a less usable OS to prevent erosion of their higher-end sales.

obviously makes commercial sense but I personally wouldn't want to encourage it, go buy a pulse if your budget's tight

Good buy as far as retail stores go but you could get a mint TMobile G1 for this sort of price on the bay.

Resistive screen means no pinch to zoom, gestures etc. as well as slow processor. I think you'll be better off waiting for the Wildfire to touch down.

would be great if you could load windows mobile OS

why would you want a windows phone? what's their appeal over an android or brew one?

agree on android.
its simply because most applications are designed to run on windows mobile platform.
actually i've never head of brew one OS before, had to google to look for it:roll:

If you want to go for numbers alone it's the iPhone that's leading the way. However, the four major platforms (iOS, Android, Windows Mobile and Blackberry OS) all have the applications available to handle most of the things you'd want to do with a smartphone. I'd recommend Windows Mobile last at the moment, it's antiquated and losing developer support fast in favour of the revamped Windows Phone 7 platform that launches later this year.

Have to agree with you there. Somehow cant imagine any lower-end devices coming out for windows phone 7 as its looking like its going to be quiet resource heavy but at least it wont be as crippling as an iphone OS. Cant wait for the Froyo release for the desire, should leave it in another league

no wi-fi! cold!!!!

This isn't really a smartphone. For just a little more you can get a Nokia 5800 which trumps this in every way possible. cold

brew os was originally designed for CDMA in 06... archaic!
worth either paying extra for android... or wait for SE x10 mini/ HTC wildfire

Come on ! A HTC Smartphone for £90.00 it's got to be HOT!!!

Bit of a stretch to call it a Smartphone when it has no WiFi, little customisation potential, and extremely limited (if any?) 3rd party apps to go at.

i got this phone as a suprise from hubby cos he got the desire, a bit dissapointing as it has no wi-fi, can not zoom in to take pictures, fiddly to get into the names on the phone list, i miss the way my old SE phone knew what word i was gona put in next, and as far as i'm aware this only comes with 3 games with no instructions and you can not get any apps for it,
on the other side - this IS my first touch screen phone, and being able to access facebook anywhere is brill and the torch app that comes on the phone was a great toy for the first week lol
THIS IS MY OPINION ONLY if anyone knows other apps that can go onto this pheme then please let me know x thanks
