My bad. Numbers all melting into one after a long day! Voted hot anyway
The U Ultra isn't a good phone but the price isn't bad. No jack though, small battery, poor build quality, last year's specs, dying company, no boomsound. Shame that HTC are RIP.

Sorry, mistaken this with another HTC I was looking to buy, the U Utra has got Boomsound speakers and it's excellent.
Deleted my comments. Heat given.

no doubt at that price.
Great phone for the money, I got it from HTC UK which included the headphone adapter, it's big, similar size to my old Sony Xperia XA ultra, but I like big phones 😊

Not dead yet, HTC now acquired by Google

Battery was terrible for me. Had to send it back. There was quite a bit of UI lag as well.

Not the whole company, Google just did acquisition of HTC hardware team members only
Pretty much the best bang for your buck phone right now. If you're still not convinced this guy explains it very well what's this phone about:

No, the Ultra was just terrible value for money. At this price it is a very good phone indeed. If they had priced it at a more sensible level when it was launched it would have sold quite well instead of being dead in the water.
How does this compare to a samsung galaxy a5?

to my knowledge A5 2017 is worth about £280 high street and U Ultra about £399 , at least. That's the difference I see.
It's a fantastic little speaker.

My bad on the boomsound. The battery is objectively worse than the average flagship, because of the tine battery and huge screen. It's def. poorly built conpared to others too - check out JerryRigEverything on youtube, he did a good test on it. And again, the camera is below average compared to other flagships at the time. Though for that price it can be overlooked. I'm talking about it compared to what the competition was at the time. At least it's reasonably priced now.

Google only bought their hardware division. So HTC's horribly big bezels will continue to live on in Pixel phones.

Just because HTC will make Pixel phones doesn't mean continue with 'horrible big bezels' as you put it. I'm sure HTC and Google are now aware of trends in design and customer complaints. Stop stressing over it I couldn't care less about bezels or no bezels it's not important to many people and is just a phone. HTC has already made an 18:9 bezel less phone in the U11 Plus

I mean, HTC made the Pixel 1/1 XL and the Pixel 2. Both had very big bezels. The U11 Plus is still big bezelled considering it's supposed to have small bezels.
