I have had a look before to see if this deal was posted but I can't seem to find it but apologies if it already exists, including Fallout 4 VR

Game within the link was used purely as a example of were you can purchase the HTC Vive from although it does include retailers such as ;

Very - very.co.uk/htc…prd (£599.99)
Game - game.co.uk/en/…976 (£599.00)
Scan - scan.co.uk/pro…r-g (£598.98)

blog.vive.com/us/…le/

This does also include the United Kingdom.

£599 is the new price, considering you can order the HP with 50% higher resolution and without all the wires for £379 i'll be surprised if it doesn't drop another £100-200 soon.

but they are bobbins for roomscale as the controllers are not very good, no SteamVR until the end of the year either.

hmmm, tempting but probably better to wait for samsung odessy which is much higher res. current gen VR headset is way too blocky due to low res screen. or wait for vive 2

What about apple Vr as well.. it's looking like the future weather we like it or not! Personally I prefer 'actual' reality, not because it's free but because the stakes are higher, it's always set to 'hard' and you only get one life

Heated.. great price if this is what your after

Apple VR? expect to re-mortgage your house for that price.

I bought this last week game offered me £30 off if I joined their extended warranty which I could cancel straight away.

Wonderful deal, especially considering the truckloads of VR titles available.

Although the tracking is less of a hassle to setup everything else is better on the rift for cheaper. Why would anyone choose this?

Does anyone know how the Fallout 4 VR pre-order thing works? is it a code on a piece of paper to activate it, or is it based on some kind of new hardware registration process?

I'm wondering if retailers have to have the right new boxes of stock with new leaflets in them, or if it can work for any stock from any retailer (even if it's been sitting on the shelf for a while, or if they haven't advertised it as being included)

Thanks, I appreciate it.

If anyone else happens to know before then, please do post, as I'm considering ordering one from another retailer, and the sooner I order it, the better chance of getting it before the weekend [[ /impatient ]]

Sorry for the late reply it's a code within the box which can be redeemed through vive.com/code

Thanks for letting me know, so it seems that this promo is dependent on having a recently stocked box, and or having the retailer specifically mention it in the listing.

It's 10% for electronics.

This is a good deal.... Until you realise the smart money is staying in people's pockets because there are rival companies joining the VR market along with the Vive2 in the pipeline. Prices will continue to drop, and the experience will be better with higher resolution and hopefully lighter more comfortable gear.
I'm dying to get my hands on some VR kit, but I know I'll kick myself later if I buy now.

You could say that about anything though ... what's the point in buying the vive 2 when they'll be a vive 3 even better

It's always the case that new products are being developed and will be released.

From experience testing Vive at PC world (and numerous reviews), it offers a great (arguably the best) experience today. It's likely it will be superceded in the future. It's hard to hold off buying until the exact right time.

I do think that this needs a further price cut to remain competitive with the Oculus price and upcoming sets (I was tempted at the idea of 20% off retail taking it to sub £500, but as you note, the Very offer doesn't apply to electronics)

I'm unconvinced by the upcoming windows headsets from Samsung etc until complete independent reviews are available showing tracking quality in different environments. The tech sounds good, but I don't trust it just from the initial demos reported.

Buy the original vive when the 2 comes out if you want it cheap. Or just buy the vive 2 because the 3 won't be around for quite some time and will be an improvement on the original.

I'm really tempted, but I'll wait and see what the vive 2 is like first. Samsung are about to release too, so that will need looking at, and these prediction people (who often get it massively wrong) are backing Microsoft to outsell all the competition.
A little patience is required I think, just to make sure you make the best choice (unless you don't mind forking out £500, only to wish you'd waited, or have a massive wallet)

Waiting for the windows headsets may make sense, if only to see what the knock on price change is for the competition.

I'm skeptical about the tracking quality on them until proven, and I assume that hands can only be tracked whilst in field of view of the headset (which could seriously limit certain game and application types)

I haven't seen any decent rumours about the Vive 2, and have been working on the basis that the new style hand controllers would be an aftermarket accessory for the original Vive, but that may be wrong.

Those new finger tracking hand controllers do look great though

But on the other hand, you could have spent all this time playing in vr.

If everyone waits for a vive2 then there won't even be a vive2 in the first place.

Why not consider what I did? Buy a dk2 for now. Brand new one was like 130. And it's great forme as all I want is to sit down and play games. With either a keyboard mouse or gamepad or wheel or flight stick it's awesome.
I've seen quite a few people post online that they prefer the dk2 over cv1 for race Sims etc

Wrong. 10% is for the 'electricals' department not all 'electrical' items. This is under 'Gaming & DVDs' so it is included in the 20% off for first orders promo.

I reported after testing it, not from assuming it would be counted as "electrical". When I tried it, the discount shown after entering the coupon was 10% which put me off ordering as I was expecting 20%
