HTC Vive + Deluxe Audio Strap + Fallout 4 VR + DOOM VR for £599

Found 21st Nov
Probably will go down like a Fa*t in a lift.
But as far as the vive prices go this is pretty decent to get all the extra stuff thrown in.
I mean fallout 4 in VR has to be good right? and payday 2 in VR (new free beta update) is meant to be amazing.

Running between 24 and 27 November, HTC Vive will be offering a tempting bundle on the VR headset, alongside two major games.

HTC Vive + Deluxe Audio Strap + Fallout 4 VR + DOOM VR for £599.

Anyway the deal will be live on most sites that stock the vive so use @very codes or @game points plus quidco/topcashback to get a little extra

Deal should include stores like, game, very, scan, overclockers, littlewoods & currys/pcworld.
Will update with links when live.

** plus (not yet live)

Nice bundle for a gift. Decent price on the deal as well. Anyone want to get me one??
But for real, a buddy of mine has this VR with Doom and it is pretty nice. You get what you pay for and then some.

It's not amazing given the price comparison to Rift+Touch, but it's a good deal if the Vive is specifically what you're looking for(people who have large spaces will benefit, for example).

Honestly, I'm a bit shocked the 'Deluxe Audio Strap' isn't simply the standard inclusion on the headset at this point for no extra cost. It actually was supposed to be a part of the Vive for release, but it wasn't ready in time. Without it, the Rift has some pretty considerable comfort and convenience advantages.

Doom VFR isn't released yet. What your buddy has is probably the VR mod for Doom 3. Which is definitely pretty awesome.

As for getting what you pay for - yes and no. Really depends on your needs. For many, the cheaper Rift+Touch bundle will be entirely adequate and has a number of notable advantages of its own.

Let me guess, you have a Rift.

I agree and I also think you will be able to get the rift for cheaper on black friday. Even at the same price the rift touch controllers are so much better than htc wands, headsets are basically the same the only benifit the htc has is easier tracking setup. If that really bothers you probably the actual best headset now is the samsung windows vr headset with its higher resolution and inside out tracking.

Valve really need to get some info out about the knuckles controllers.

And? I can own a Rift and not be some fanboy of it.

I'm pretty informed about VR tech and I gave my honest impressions/advice.

Then you know the difference between the two is pretty negligible where it counts. What are the advantages of the Rift over Vive you mentioned?

Agree the differences are fairly negligible in the big picture. Which is why I think the Rift+Touch is a better value.

As for Rift's advantages, it feels lighter to wear(more comfortable for long sessions), slightly better SDE and perceived resolution, notably larger sweetspot with the lenses, and the big one - Touch controllers are arguably a lot more nifty than the Vive wands. And before you go off and start naming the Vive's advantages, you dont need to. I am aware it is better in some areas as well. As I said before - pros/cons. And as you said before - the overall differences are pretty negligible at the end of the day. Which makes the £400 Rift bundle the better deal, especially as it comes with some free software as well.

Not taking sides in this, just giving genuine honest advice. I'm sure people will be happy with either and I will certainly be happy with people just getting into VR on whatever device/platform.

I'm not really, it was a flippant comment followed by a question.

What we really need is the improved roomscale of the vive, with the price and controllers of the rift.

I don't own either, but have demod both in store, and feel that from my limited experience, the vive felt more immersive, but the controllers are a generation behind.

It's frustrating that HTC haven't responded more to the oculus price cuts and valve don't seem to be in a hurry to get the new controllers out.

Does anyone know if this offer is online-only or if it's available in stores as well?

Also watch out, Curry's PC World seem don't seem to be bundling the deluxe audio strap with the deal.

Ok, Game was closed when I went to check but I confirmed that Curry's don't have the audio strap.

In the end I ordered it online with Very. If you don't already have an account, you can go through Quidco and get £65 cashback. With postage the total works out at £539, which I'm sure you'll agree is an absolute bargain!

Enjoy the vive mate.
Sure you've done lots of research but if you run into any problems feel free to message me.
There's some amazing games on steam that have had some hefty discounts

I ordered last night at 4.3% and it's tracked at £45.30... which can't be correct?

We ordered from Very yesterday. Opened a credit account with them and went to the process. Today we receive an email saying that they have declined our purchase but they don't say why. Did this happen to anyone?

Get on to them via live chat.
I'm sure they will tell you why.

Yes, we are now phoning because we even got an email saying that it was going to be delivered tomorrow but not we just got this. They just said to us that every time someone opens a new account, they need to phone so that all is reviewed and then they will accept the order. We asked why and if this is normal, and she said that they are doing these with most new accounts to avoid any fraud. The thing is, we never got any email from them at all. We found out cause we got into the very account. Hope they do accept it.

Quick tip; Make sure all reflective surfaces in your area are covered up.
Mirrors play havoc with tracking.

Really want the new head strap but not paying £100 for it so quiet jealous about that

Look forward to hearing back when you get it all installed.

Thanks for the tip! I'll take that into consideration. I know, it's a lot of money!!! but i haven't seen many good deals this year as others.

Problem with the vive it never gets any major reductions.
Bonus with very is the interet free.
People sniff at it but why not pay 12 months rather than one lump.
I've just done the same with very and a 1080ti and it was cheaper than anywhere else it will stand me at around £560.
Of Corse it's an expense but we deserve a treat every now and again

P.s. when I get to my PC this week I'll go through my bundle accounts and see what spare VR games I've got.
There's no major titles to my knowledge but will be worth a go.
I'll DM you at some stage.
Edited by: "geebeegooner" 27th Nov

hahaha "we deserve a treat now and again" yes, I agree on that. I've been following for buying Vive since it went out. So yes, it's true, it doesn't do any major reductions and if I spend money for something, better be good. I didn't want to go for any cheap version of other brands to be honest.

I've just seen your PS. Ohh that's so nice. Definately. I'm new to this so any help and tips more than welcome. DM whenever or I can add you to my steam friends list. I'm taking a look at VR steam games, Im seeing zombie games!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to try this!!
