The only standout thing with this deal is the fact that it is a 12 month contract. Not a bad deal for a good phone, but a warm vote from me

There is also this option - hotukdeals.com/ite…65-

I know it's 24 months and less min/txts but still a good deal

Is there the option to buy out your contract if your on the 24 month deal?

I might have to give it a go.

Will this be better than the HD2? :?

I don't know if you've seen the HD2 but its a whopper of a phone!

true if you budget can go i would say get the desire

Not really an offer.

First 25 = marketing, er, scheme. (Nearly wrote scam - tsk!)

the phone will be £230 @ play.com at the end of month, i think this is a good deal mind you apart from 500mb of data thats just poor

well i have went for it anyways as i dont like long contracts and was going to pay o2 £20 a month anyways

marshall ward have it for £280 minus 8% quidco and pay next july, then get the o2 sim for £6.66 works out about same price plus if you dont want an upfront payment at play, plus more texts and minutes and you dont have to jump through hoops with garbage vodafone , cold deal

yay I won one, thanks OP :-)

be careful there's a whole thread on MSE about the data charges on Vodafone for the HTC and there's mention of BBC Watchdog becoming involved

yeh thanks, will be fine. will mainly be using wifi all the time so 500mb will be plenty. They did it as a 6 month early upgrade to my existing contract too so very pleased all in all. phone coming tomorrow, free delivery :-D

I've been given an HD2 as a replacement for my broken n97. It is very good but I don't really like the windows nitty gritty. :x

And lack of free apps.

After reading that, I thought I'd chance my arm for an early upgrade if possible. Did you have to do much haggling?

Does anyone know what the difference between the old Vodafone internet limit and the new limit?

Ive just got one, coming tommorrow :-D I was due for an upgrade mid July so this was handy as its only a 12 month contract. They gave me an early upgrade. How do I know how much of the 500mb internet allowance I use, so I can make sure I don't go over... although I doubt I will as I'll probably just use the wifi. rep for any helpers

just a quick tip sorry but make sure on netcounter you set it for 30 days then you can see your usegae every month so you dont go over

other cool apps like layar and google goggles are good for fun but apps like app killer and in your case netcounter are more essential but lok around the market place see what you like

Would recommend against an app killer - it will eventually lead to lots of phone glitches. Android 2.1 is good enough to manage apps without needing an app killer.
