£10 needs to be added to the price i think as you need to buy £10 of airtime

Love my Wildfire. Can be unlocked for about £15. Cracking phone - free Android 2.2 update on unlocked Wildfires now.

the added £10 is for a new sim. We just upgraded so did not have to pay the extra £10.

Yeah, but not everyone is upgrading and the price is clearly based upon buying a £10 sim.

tesco price is £160:p

I thought phones from phones4u came unlocked anyway ?

Android 2.2 has been out for HTC wildfire. So you must be able to upgrade it even if it comes with 2.1...

Yeah, useful.

Just making the point your deal price is incorrect - you should amend it.

To all, this is cracking deal. Purchased the o2, I can confirm the device is unlocked and the firmware 2.2 is available. Which I have succesfully upgraded on the wifi.

If it comes locked -Vodafone unlocks the handsets for free if you are Vodafone pay monthly customer. If you are pay as you go customer then they charge £20. However they may take up to 6 weeks to provide you the NUC code if the phone was built recently (i.e when the unlock code is not in their database and they need to approach HTC).

Did you buy this instore? and on O2 it was unlocked?

As far as I know, all payg handsets from phones4u are unlocked - furthermore, they all are likely to be original stock too, so no network rubbish either. Great deal, well spotted. Such a flexible handset, great if you like to tinker and hack your phones, lol

Every phone I've purchased from Phones4u online and instore has been unlocked and unbranded.

I went in store on Christmas eve to purchase a BB8520 on O2 for the gf, they said it would be £149.95 + £10 top up (£20 top-up if paying by cash) but I asked if the phone was unlocked to all networks and the assistant said yes so I asked for the T-MObile one which was only £129.95. And sure enough it was unlocked!

The HTC has a much better camera. Just got this free on upgrade so will be able to compare with my san fran next week.

My mate has the wildfire and I have a san francisco. I'd have to say I much prefer the san francisco. The way they run is pretty much like for like, but the screen on the san francisco is much better, visually and size wise. Cheaper too.

I would go for the Wildfire the SF may have a better screen but the HTC is a quality brand and looks and feels fantastic compared to the cheap looking SF.

+1!

shame orange one s so much more expensive

San Francisco > Wildfire in EVERY WAY EXCEPT THE CAMERA.

HTC is the better brand name, but that's the reason that HTC rivals iPhone 'Don't buy because of the name, buy because of the product' and the high end HTC phones are better than the iPhones.

is this only available in white? or the mocha colour too?
p.s hot

Had one of these for last 3 months, upgraded to 2.2 just before xmas, really good phone and before others start on how much better the Orange Sanfransisco is, it ISNT, i have both and the build quality of the SF is like a toy, perhaps the screen is a little sharper but that is about it. Real world HTC beats the SF hands down, good price for a good phone so heat from me !

BUT, as others have said, they are likely to be unlocked , so you could buy another network cheaper and put your SIM in it.

i nearly bought one a while back, but in the end i am glad i got an amoled san fran. the screen is amazing.
