The preview shows the trainer using the tag <strong></strong> to make text bold. I believe that current thinking is that using the <b></b> is better if all you want to do is to decorate the text (i.e. make it bold), because screen-readers used by visually-impared users of web pages now treat <strong> as emphasis - so "Come here <strong>now</strong> reads out [loud] as "Come here NOW!" but "Come here <b>now</b>" becomes "Come here now" [same volume].

If you want to learn HTML and CSS - and it can be lots of fun - then this course will get you started, but addiional sources of learning may improve your coding beyond the basics. Also, check out SIGIL, a free e-book coding software. Very helpful community there, if you get stuck.
