I had this for a while and returned it because it didn’t pick up a good signal (compared to an iPhone on the same network) and there is no option to add an external antenna

Interesting! I’ve ordered it based on the fact that I get between 20-30 mbs on my phone on the same network what sort of speeds were you getting

Hopefully you will be fine then. I was getting about 1/2 speeds on the AI cube vs the phone.
I've just ordered this too. Was looking for a data SIM and a router for either my iPad Pro cellular or to use in the router itself for when we get to go away at some point.
I have this and I am too getting really poor speeds. My iPhone says usually 72mb down and 32 up but with this device I get 18 down and 26 up.

I heard that the b535 will give better speeds but I don’t want to spend more money on the new device and find out I get the same speeds?
Also worth noting the AI speaker is pants too, won't pick commands and the sound quality is poor vs an echo dot
I have had one of these for the last year....the AI speaker is indeed crap but i have google home so didnt really care about that....speeds were ok for my area BUT.....it has not had a firmware update for over 6 months and i have to reset it every 2 weeks But heat for the price as currently paying 30 a month
Got the 535 needed ethernet ports. Perfect speed 65 mast is very close. Had since November. Won't go back to fixed line. Plus gonna get the easy upgrade to 5g on this. 3 will be using city fibre and virgin to power the masts for 5g (Google it) cable already laid so win win. Over 25 devices hooked up to WiFi still goes strong. £17 pm month no Brianer

This isn't a 5G router, you know that right?

I have had one of these for ~14 months. Neve had an issue with sound quality, doesn't need resetting more than any other router. Signal is fine. Speed same as phone plan on 3, EE and o2 but Vodafone refuses a 4g connection and will only allow 3g.

These can be had on the eBay for around £60-£100 though andd often you can get the B535 for about £70 on a one month plan from 3, more ethernet options, a disabled phone socket that can be made useable with the right firmware and antenna often make that a preferred option.
Mine arrived today and they even sent me a free echo dot. No idea why! I know 3 isn't that great in my house as was with them before but I didn't buy it for that. Still getting 14 Mbps down and 25 upload without even moving it around to best location (in the app it tells you signal strength). The Alexa seems decent to me...it picked me up two rooms away over the dot next to me! This isn't a Sonos one but it's loud and will do a good job as an all in one when go away to center parcs (WiFi is crap and locked down there) but also for data in iPad Pro. Can't moan TBH. As my mate said my 14 Mbps is better than his internet!

Since it blocked me from replying in messages on here. In the box I got the modem, my 3 unlimited SIM and a three PAYG SIM to give to a family member and an echo dot (no idea why but I'll take it!) You need to put the SIM in the modem or a phone (the modem takes micro not nano SIM so unless have adapter use the modem). Look on bottom of the router for password. Connect to the WiFi of the router and it will start the setup process and as part of that you can change the passwords etc. I'd recommend you do that as they are printed on the bottom of the router otherwise! You need the Hi link Huawei app to do all of this. From there you can see a placement scanner for moving around and also access SMS. I then did a reset password from the 3 site to setup My3. It will then ask you to link and verify your email. Once in my3 you can see the tariff you are on etc.

It's weird and confusing they do that but you can see it as a business model. Makes more sense when it's not a router though and a phone.
Just got my bill through and they are trying to charge me £29 instead of £20 even though deal says £20 on order. Anyone else had this?

This is normal, the extra 9 smeckles is because your first bill started mid month so your paying the 9 for the time during the first month billing cycle since you signed up and the 20 is for the next month (you always pay a month in advance).

Next month your bill will be 20.

I hope that makes sense?

No it’s not. It is just wrong. It’s not the pro rata billing. They are just charging me wrong. Confirmed as it changed in my3 app too to £29 pm from £20. Was in the three shop for 2 hours yesterday as you can’t contact billing atm. Eventually he got through to cancellations who have allegedly sorted it now (tried to say offer was a glitch initially ) I have reference number and the guys in the store to validate. Most import have order confirmation stating £20 per month deal. Will see from now on.
