Probably not going to be for everyone. I've been waiting for the Moto G 5inch to come back down but noticed this one from Huawei. Significantly more expensive on Amazon and other sites. Downside is that there are not many detailed reviews and any that there are are not particularly gushing. Anyway I think it looks good value for the money even if not on a par with the Moto G. Spec includes 4G, 720 x 1280 pixels, 5.0 inches (~294 ppi pixel density)
CPU is Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53
Android OS, v4.4.2 (KitKat)
8 GB, 1 GB RAM
Back camera is 8 MP, 3264 x 2448 pixels, autofocus, LED flash, Front Camera 2MP

Great price for a great phone. hot from me

Wasn't the moto g only £10 more at one point?

I think it went to £119 at its lowest, not sure if the £5 mastercard discount applied to it. Would be tempted to go go for the Moto if it went back to that price any time soon. I'm tempted by the Huawei but we be intered to see what others think, especially anyone who owns one

I am only getting £120 as the price on the link?

get the deal for £119.99 as well.

sim free is 119.99. The PAYG price is 99.99. I believe all CPW phones are unlocked anyway. Not sure what is happening with the link

This one or moto g 2nd gen???? Which is better????

You're probably better going for the Honor 3C ebay.co.uk/itm…e9f which is the same price but you get 2GB of RAM instead of 1GB

good spec and tempting if 4G is not a priority (which it is not for me), Only thing that bothers me is the after sales support - not immediately but 6 months down the road if the phone develops a fault. A strong possibility though...

Got this for my 10yo son as a Christmas present from CPW - he loves the phone; it's fairly straightforward Android KitKat and an absolute doddle to use. The only 'downside' if you like, is the weight of the handset and the battery not lasting all day (but that could be the amount of tethering and gaming junior does on the handset). Camera is fairly easy to use and shooting video in full HD are on the plus side. Being 4G he finds the internet a breeze to use and he uses it mainly to tether his PC and tablet as well as playing games when on the go. Like me he is on 3's One Plan but for some reason he gets a better signal on his G620S than I do on my Lumia 925 when indoors. For the money however, I'd say go for it!!

All that from a 10 year old?

Tethering to a PC and tablet and using 4G "on the go" on a 3 One plan. Finds the internet a "breeze" ?

That looks like a lot of phone for the price, and I've had phones made by these before and they've been great!

Just reading the specs, looks quite good but not sure if it is supposed to be quad core, qual core or octa core?

Honor 3C looks like Android 4.2, bit behind the times..

The Moto G 2014 LTE is coming out soon, it will be using the snapdragon 410 cpu that this uses. You might want to pay an extra £30 or so and get that, you will get stock android 5.0 and likely get a few android updates, huawei don't give android updates for their lower cost phones.

My mum's 18 month old Y300 struggles to maintain a connection to EE, not great. Doubt anyone in the family would buy a Huawei again.

Nice phone but just a word of warning cpw no longer repair these under warranty so if it goes wrong good luck getting it sorted.

Is it not out already?
Would it be a better buy than the 5" 2nd Gen model?
Any yes think you should give this a miss in favour of the current Moto G.

Not the eBay one linked to in this thread - that's 3G.

The 4G model costs more depending on where you buy it from - for example (1Gb models):
From China: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271552123396
From UK: ebay.co.uk/itm…079

Why sad? It's not an overpriced iPhone and it's a good way to continue a child's understanding of modern communications and technology. If I were cynical I would suggest your comment was a little spiteful; I thought MistaMo was providing a useful description/review of the product in the context of his young son, which I found ultimately helpful.

not that i`m a huge fan of HUAWEI, but the y300 was a cheap budget phone 2 years ago, have you tried using a different network with the phone?

I've got an Y300 and it has a better reception of talkmobile (vodafone) than a brand new LG G3. I've just installed slimkat now and it's still absolutely capable, nice and small. I mainly use (corporate) email, maps, calendar, light gaming, browsing. I've installed a 32GB sd card, link2sd and folder mount to get around the storage space restrictions. If only google didn't force its bloatware on phones! I'm about to sell the LG G3 now.

Whilst I'm perfectly happy with my Huawei Y300, I'd probably prefer the Moto G over this one. My Y300 does feel cheap and the screen can scratch rather easily or get dull (no gorilla glas). I believe the G620 doesn't have gorilla glas as well. In terms of durability the Moto G is probably better. This is mere speculation, though.

cpw is to going to repair huawei phones as normal very soon...so not a big problem...good handsets

Using just over 4 days.
No real difference noticed between G620s and my wife's Samsung S6 (won via Samsung ads).
I like the Huawei EMUI 2.3. Version 3.0 coming very soon on G620s, its' smooth, fast and joy to use it.

Long live Huawei.
