The Huawei Y300 is now on sale for £39.95 at Carphone Warehouse as a PAYG upgrade.

I bought it today instore. They still had it displayed as £59.95, but they agreed to give me it for the online pirce.

Would really recommend this phone, if you don't have a smartphone yet, at this price it's a no brainer.

Someone has edited this to say instore in the title, but it is available online too.

How do you get this price? do you have to have a sim only contract? its coming up at £49.95 plus £10 top up?

do you have to have a sim only contract or just a contract with them to get this offer? It's showing £49.95 plus £10 top up on their website?

It is for PAYG upgrades. You have to have a PAYG sim card.

On the website go to "Upgrades" then under the "Pay As You Go" heading click "All phones".

You can only get this phone at the £39.95 price if you meet the terms and conditions regarding the PAYG 'UPGRADE' option.

1. You must already be with one of the network providers listed on the CPW website detailed with the Huawei Y300.
2. Your sim card must be active and in use for over 6 months.
3. You must have topped-up at least once in the past 6 months.
4. You must not have already upgraded in the past 6 months.

If buying online you will have to input your existing phone number, your sim card number and the unique code that will appear on the CPW website during the upgrade option.

If buying in store, you will need to give them your existing phone number and show them your sim card, they will input the details in their computer and the system will give you the all clear or not.

Boyfriend picked one up today for his mum. You can now get it in Purple, White or Black.

He got his mum a Purple one.

picked one up for my wife yesterday for £40! very pleased with it.

My 2 (vodafone and orange) payg numbers weren't accepted even though I meet the T&Cs. It seems to be a bit hit and miss from what I've read on the previous threads.

How does this do against a moto g ?

Especially as under half the price ?

Their systems always hit and miss. I've tried in store a number of times and it never works (they say). I think they just want to make some extra £ for their commission...

Is this better than my G300?

Superb price. Great spot OP.

The wife has had this for nearly a month and for a smartphone in the cheap end of the market, it's fab!! Screen is great and the processor is very good.

Its been this price for while, very good value at the price, I bought one when they were £59.99 on an upgrade, would recommend a case though, as there isn't any grip on the sides and it tends to slip easliy

This is no match for the moto G

Y300 is worse in most respects, however for the money this is a dual core phone and it's good enough for the price bracket it's in.

This has a Micro SD card slot the Moto G doesn't, so this phone can have more onboard storage than a Moto G.

This is no Moto G though.

Did you try online or in store? Give it another few tries, sometimes it just all suddenly goes through...

I wondered that but I am not going to bother. It is slightly better (dual core rather than single CPU) but against that you lose the compass which I find useful. Other than that they are almost the same:

I have the Y300 and its a superb phone at half the price of the Moto G, plus the Huawei Y300 has SD card feature, the Moto G does not.

The Huawei is also smaller and lighter that the Moto.

Been on this offer for weeks

Yup I said most of that, it's still not comparable to a Moto G, side by side the Moto G will kill this phone for screen performance and OS performance but as you say the Moto G is more than double the price. So you're getting your moneys worth this this phone definitely.

Apart from the price. I paid £89 for the G300 18 month ago

And yet you didn't post it. Good thing the OP did and clued a few people in on a potential bargain. You know, kind of the point of the site. Your comment comes off as so sour, "Why did you praise the OP? I knew about this ages ago, HMPH!".

Total rubbish matey. If you haven't topped up in the last 6 months or recently upgraded in the 6 months or the sim card isn't 6 months old then you can't upgrade.Believe me and I know a pay and go upgrade is a nice little £13 towards store bonus and easy money so they have no reason not to upgrade.O2 is the easiest to upgrade with and only requires a chargeable call every 90 days to keep you eligible as for Vodafone, orange and t mobile there a little bit harder and Vodafone upgrades have been playing up the last few days but there fine now.Pop in again and give it a try.

No you said ''Y300 is worse in every respect'' ............................ even though the Huawei has SD card feature and the Moto G does not, so how does this make the Huawei worst ?

The Huawei Y300 from CPW will also be unlocked (no unlocking code needed), the Moto G from Tesco is locked to Tesco (add couple of quid for unlocking code).

Its not worth buying any smartphone nowadays which has less than 1GB Ram - unless you are not going to install any apps what so ever or browse the web a great deal etc..... Its false economy

Phones like this are cheap for a reason

What the hell apps are you running that won't fit into 1GB?!? For the last year or so I've used the G300 with 512MB on CM 10.2 and it does everything I want.

Decent little phone, but the stock launcher is rubbish. Just install Nova Launcher free from the Play store and you're golden.
