I saw this phone on sale instore at Asda (Basildon) today at £37.00
It's not the latest all singing, all dancing smartphone etc. etc., but it is handy for a backup/kids phone at a realistic price.

It says £79 on ASDA website .you should confirm the price first mate.

That was the only link I could find on the Asda website, but it IS on sale at £37.00 in the store. There was a display case with 12 of these on it (probably more out back), and a BIG sticker showing the reduced price.

Is this £37 plus the customary £10 top-up or is it inclusive?
Which service provider is this with or is it unlocked?

Thanks

I'm not sure on either question. The 'Red/Yellow' Asda sticker on the stand showed £45.00 with a line through it and below that it showed it's new price of £37.00. I would imagine that under the Sale of Goods Act, that is the price they have to sell it at.
On the Asda website it states 'Sim Free/Unlocked', so I would imagine that the ones I saw on sale were as well.

prices displayed under the sale of goods act an price label is only an invitation to treat... they don't have to sell it at a displayed price

What I meant in my reply was that the sticker stated '£37.00' without any mention of a £10 top up, so if it says '£37.00' then that is the price you pay.

I have one of these, nice little things. Only problem they aren't the fastest to begin with and can get laggy later on if you download aps a lot. Apart from that it's all good.

Good phone for the money. Phones4u had it 29.99 if upgrade. I have this phone ok as a starter android. 256 ram so just about ok for basic apps Facebook twitter news stuff

Yeah.small internal memory and ram. Just don't expect a S3 :-

i'd probably spend a bit more and get a better phone, i've got this and it slow, has an old version of android and the screen is very unresponsive

Check out the Alcatel for 39.99 at the o2 shop. Had a quick play. Pretty good and 512mb ram. Twice as quick. That's a proper bargain if you're on o2

I love the fact that because its a bit poo its an ok kids phone. Trust me, if its pants, your kids will be the first one to turn it down.

Have had my Blaze for over a year and its been an absolutely fabulous bit of kit for the money .
OK it won't play BBCi player or do Skype but will handle the usual web based email ,Facebook,Twitter , Kindle app and youtube etc . Even used it as a sat nav on odd occasions .
Just downloaded Dropbox too , which stores and syncs all the photos (over 700 at mo ) from the phone to a "cloud" for back up or sharing . Plugged in a cheap 8gb micro SD card to mine as soon as I got it for extra storage .

I don't use it much as an actual phone to be honest and this for me is perhaps its worst attribute , it can be a bit clunky .

As others said , best not to download too many apps as it does slow it down and I'm not into games so can't comment on that side of things .

I mainly use it on home or coffee-shop/pub WiFi to quickly check emails or social media and just use O2 on PAYG . On the very rare occasion I need mobile data where no WiFi just pay £1 for a days access .

Great little phone but the touch screen is small to use when texting, Tesco's had these instore before Christmas £25..........

I need to get a phone for my old man,he's off to Aus in a few weeks, and wants something that can do skype, but doesn't need all the bell's and whistles as he only wants to spend £50. Any suggestions anybody? Ideally would need to be unlocked. Tia.

if my kids ever have that attitude then they'll bloody well do without as far as i'm concerned.

I looked at one of these in Phones4U yesterday. I asked the salesman which was the smallest android phone in the shop (which made him think) and he suggested this one. Turned out that it is smaller (almost unnoticeably) than the Sony Tipo or Samsung Galaxy Y. Although there is not much in it I marginally preferred the Tipo.

So if you are looking for a small android phone and don’t mind the low power?

Look at some cheap android phones, samsung, htc, LG and Huawei do some decent ones

I have this phone. It's not great. The unresponsiveness at times, and the sluggishness. I mean you go on the internet, you can use the camera, you can do a few other features- I even have it playing a basic game. But you get what you pay for.

This was in phones4u for £29.99 i bought one for my daughter... it is terrible, screen is dull covered in plastic not glass runs so slow none of the game apps play smoothly just jerk. no memory at all just 3 apps and it was full. after leaving a screen on for a few mins it burned a permanent image in the screen, the back cover broke off, no more than a toy.

My girlfriend had one of these. It was quite good. Better than the HTC wildfire s she now uses.

I have this & for its price its great!

But if you're someone who loves their gadgets and always want the new apps, this might not be the phone for you

For example - Certain apps like Temple Run don't work on it but whatsapp and instagram work perfectly fine
