Cheapest I’ve ever seen one of these they go for around 30-50 on eBay, may say three but they come unlocked aswell great for using around the house not sure how long they will be on offer.

update:
if you are not able to get the box alone
take out the 1 month rolling contract and cancel the same day don’t activate the simcard

update 2:
most are able to get the device for free in store and cancel the contract same day during the 14 day cool off period making the device free
Community Updates
This MiFi is a Three supplied unit, all Three devices come unlocked from 1st Jan 2014.

This model does not have antenna connectors for those wishing to use such to boost signal.

This is for a 30 day rolling contract so in addition to the price you will need to sign up and get a contract. Can cancel but it will cost 1 month's contract
Update;

When going into store don’t ask for a contract just ask for the box to be sold , they will try to push the contract on to you but it’s the box you are after ,

they come factory unlocked.
Can upload reciept if it helps
The whole thing is a bit of a pointless exercise if Im honest, Buy box sign up for min 1 Month Contract, hope that they cancel within 30 days, dont bother using the Data, all for a box that you can pick second hand off the Bay, or similar, delivered to your door for less than twenty quid.

Got one in my basket, but not sure what I'd actually use it for?

I ran out of data on my current mobile plan so I was looking to add £20 for 10GB but as I have another SIM card with data on il use that until my current plan refreshes its data in a couple days or just if I need to use WiFi in another country.

Generally for connecting multiple devices to a hotspot, e.g. in the car or on your travels.

Great find op. I got the previous Three data sim but it only came with a 3G mifi device so this will upgrade it to 4G :-)

No contract needed brought one an just popped my o2 SIM card in, didn’t ask me to use the three Sim or take any details just pay in cash if you have issues thanks
hope this helps
Was thinking of using 3g data sim on it 10 pounds for 20GB
Ive reserved one, do the currys staff ask you to fill in contract with Direct Debit details when you pick it up. If so, what's cheapest and how soon can you phone up to cancel as cancelling after a few days may mean 2 months worth out contract!

your just paying for the dongle , they don’t ask you for any sign up details but a three SIM card will come in the box , it’s three branded but unlocked this is how they get around the price as they’d want you to use their network.
Last time I tried to get something similar, they wouldn't sell me one unless I signed up for a bloody contract. Will give this one a go at the local CPW shop.

Depending on the country, is it not easier/cheaper to buy a sim card there, and use your phone as a mobile hotspot for other family/friends, or get everyone a local sim card which might have free minutes between you - done that in eastern Europe before, which made our visit easier and cheaper, especially when not all walking around together ?
Anyone know if I can use a normal SIM with unlimited data in this? Is there a work around so it doesnt know I am tethering?
Is this an unlocked version? Or locked on three?
Perfect to go along with echo dot Alexa in the car
Got an osprey mini 2 I think from EE with a 64GB SIM card. However it gets really hot and battery life is horrible. Anyone got one of these and can tell me how long the battery lasts while putting about 3gb through an hour
Does this device automatically power on when it receives power from the USB? I currently use a TP Link mobile router with a separate 4G dongle plugged in. I use it for lexus connected services in my car, instead of paying the dealer £350 to fit the their one.

It works a treat my friend. Great for kids to choose music (& adults alike)
can anyone confirm its unlocked please?

Think you got lucky with incompetent staff, it says on the page it's pay monthly, suspect everyone else will be asked to go on contract as usual.

What I will say is that when I tried to buy the EE dongle on Black Friday, I went to pick it up and was told I HAD to buy a contract, so told them to shove it.

I tether it to my phone . Alexa in the car via aux is amazing.

It says on the product page

Data options
- 5 GB: £15 per month
- 15 GB: £20 per month
- 20 GB: £23 per month

Cancel at any time with 30 days notice

Surprised there isn't a 1gb option, possible might be in store.

Call same day, but I'd advise not using the word cancel and instead say you want to give your 30 days notice to finish your contract. Cancel confused the phone staff last time I used it and they kept saying you have to return it to store if you want to cancel.

If it isn't they are very easy to unlock with a cheap code off e bay.
My Mum has one and struggles to know when it’s on or off lol, these things really need sliding switches.

It's a rechargeable battery, lasts about three hours from full. You have to turn it on to use it. Leave it plugged in for continuous charge, which will poss harm the battery eventually. Cheaper but marginally less convenient than a fitted kit, and as already stated, this is very portable. I got the epic past Three deal with this and 20gb for £8 a month, no issues. I don't have aux connection for phone in car so also bought a plug in FM transmitter for listening to Spotify and Audible.

I've been recommending this to my motorhoming friends for yonks, it's nothing new but I didn't realise that HUKD members weren't aware of it already ... sorry!

You have to sign up to a contract for it when you get it but if you ring up to cancel immediately you can sometimes get let off with nothing else to pay (although obviously you won't get a month's data either), however as some of my friends found they still ended up having to pay a month's contract (and got to use the data), so it's a bit 'swings and roundabouts' if you get lucky or not!

Its a good MIFI and I've used one a lot, very good signal reception and lasts quite a long time on battery. Nowadays they tend to come unlocked but if not then it only costs 99p for a code off Ebay.
It's called a pay monthly device and clearly states a contract is required:

Anyone know whether this would pick up 4G in USA? I have one of those older 4GEE boxes and it only picked up 3G....

Or would be able to recommend an alternative that would work in Europe and USA?

I got one last year. As I tether my 3 mobile phone to my devices I don’t really use it. Tried it in Italy and the USA. You cannot stream anything with it abroad but you can download emails -just. You can’t tether your 3 mobile abroad so that’s why I took it. I only use it a few times a year when I go camping. The kids use it to stream to their devices and the speed is very fast in certain areas. I bought the one month rolling deal and then cancelled it. It now has a 12 month sim in it , valid for 12 months, 12gb. Usually about £26 from my memory or amazon

Good find. I’m putting an Amazon Echo Dot in my car and this is perfect! Three do a great Pay As You Go sim too, 321 sim. 3p calls, 2p texts, 1p Mb. Perfect.
I almost got one, but then they refused to sell without contract
