The unlocked versions of these are ~£150 on Amazon. It actually works out £19.99 for the device on a 30-day rolling contract. Contracts start at £15.99 per month and can be cancelled at any time (with 30 days notice) so I included 1 month in the price above. You have to sign up in-store, you can't do it online.

These are the specs from the Huawei website:

HUAWEI Mobile WiFi E5776 is a high-speed packet access mobile hotspot. It is a multi-mode wireless terminal for SOHO and business professionals, it can support 10 Wi-Fi devices connecting and can stay online anytime and anywhere.

You can connect the E5776 with Wi-Fi, or connect the E5776 with USB interface of a computer. In the service area of the LTE/DC-HSPA+/HSPA+/HSPA/UMTS or EDGE/GPRS/GSM network, you can surf the Internet and send/receive messages/emails cordlessly. The E5776 is fast, reliable, and easy to operate. Thus, mobile users can experience many new features and services with the E5776. These features and services will enable a large number of users to use the E5776 and the average revenue per user (ARPU) of operators will increase substantially.

There is this device as well - don't know if this one is better
Currys Mi-Fi Device

Can this definitely support up to 10 devices?

Is it locked to EE?
Easy to unlock? Planning to get one to use abroad.

The 5776 is a better device as its LTE-A so potential speeds of up to 150mbps. Battery life is very good too. I have this device and used the other one. The 5776 is smaller too.

Will Currys have to sell you the 1 month rolling contract when you pick it up?

Thanks- have ordered
See you can get unlock codes on ebay for 99p

hot !

Does anyone know what the actual data cap is on these contracts ??

Depends how much you pay; check the prices on the EE website.

Shouldn't total price be GBP51.97? device + 2x £15.99 per month.

When you sign for contract 1st month starts at once and even though if you cancel it same day you are going to be charged for the following month.

Hope I am wrong.

depends on notice period.

it it says 30days notice then you are fine this month as long as you cancel the same day :P

Did it with 3 UK dongle some time ago and it was not honored, was also charged for 2nd month.

Just been in touch with EE Customer Services and you can cancel same day and wouldnt go into 2nd 30 day period.

What amount of data is in this offer?

Awesome deal. Been wanting to upgrade my Mifi. And I am on the road a bit over the next month so will be good to try out 4GEE. I am not sure what 4G frequency Three will use and what frequencies this supports so be aware it may not work on other operators 4G. If it is Quad Band then you should be ok.

i called up everything everywhere the day i bought it and they cancelled the 30 day contract too so i got it for £20 Lady said they hadn't put the 30 day free trial on so swapped the contract for a free trial. Anyhow straight on ebay and got £70 so cant complain

Will i be needed to sign up to a contract instore? Or do i activate a sim myself at home over the phone?

How do these work then? Basically stick your sim in it and works like a router?

If I unlock this, what sim will it take, any? What's the cheapest unlimited sim plan?

Would a giff gaff £10/month unlimited data sim work in this? The ones your technically supposed to use in mobile phones and not supposed to tether with?

I have no idea exactly what this does but would I be right in saying that once you've cancelled your contract then it doesn't do anything at all or have I missed something?

^^ this

... Once unlocked, how easy would it be to use with a 3three sim I'm wondering... Whack it in and away you go or a entering values and apns ect?

Yeah, also wondering if I could wack in my three One Plan?

maxcovergold

Sadly not, Three detect that it's not a phone and block it.

what if you reserve and collect and just play dumb that you dont have to signup for anything lol

Whenever I have attempted to use a One Plan sim in a non-handset device, any attempt at accessing the internet returns a message that the sim is exclusively for handset use only, and if mobile broadband access is required them a mobile broadband sim is required.
Seems reasonable and IAW One Plan t&c, but still disappointing.

There must be ways around this? Or with giffgaff?

Ah right ok so will be needing to take the usual ID and stuff with me then

Excellent. if only three did an unlimted sim for tethering, would happily pay 30+ a month. home broadband here is crap.

Well the one month version of Three's One Plan has unlimited data AND tethering. So stick one of these in any phone that supports Wifi tethering and problem solved.

Oh and later this year Three will be upgrading their network to LTE and will not charge extra to use it.
