This is the latest bargain Android handset broadly equivalent to the original Samsung Galaxy S and the new HTC Desire V in spec terms (Snapdragon S1 1Ghz processor w Adreno 200 GPU, 512MB ram, 800x480 4 inch screen, Gorilla Glass, 5MP Camera, upgradable to ICS)
This is locked to Vodaphone, but can be unlocked for £5 using the unlockers on ebay/

EDIT (31/8/12): I had originally recommended the cracking Sim deal from Ovivo below, but they have drastically changed their offer in the last few days with little or no notice and therefore would not recommend trusting any current or future offer from them as they have duped a large number of us to switch to them and then changed the offer..... the original offer is below:

hotukdeals.com/tag/dea…914

The handset is £99 with £3.95 delivery from isme.com, but via quidco if you open an isme Options credit account isme will credit you with £30 into the account on your first purchase by inserting the code 293GV in the promo code box at checkout after choosing the method of payment (I chose to pay by the Options account to be sure that I got the £30 voucher). Also there is 6% quidco (was previously 10%) cashback which tracks at £5.94, effectively making the phone 99 + 3.95 (delivery) - 30 (voucher) - 5.94 (quidco) = £67.01 delivered.

In order to get the £30 voucher you will need to not have had an Options credit account with isme.com before

I bought one yesterday and is being delivered tomorrow, and they have applied the £30 credit into the account and the cashback has tracked at quidco, so all looks good.

A bargain phone for £63, especially with the Ovivo call deal. Don't expect the isme deal and their stocks to hang around for long (especially the £30 credit and the 10% cashback)

can contact them via 0808 1010021
- upu007

Edit 14/08/12:
I understand that the 10% quidco cashback has finished and now reduced to 6% so have edited post accordingly...

Alternatively, you can go through topcashback for 6.06% cashback.

Most of the people on here who have had issues were trying to defraud them, and unlike other companies, Shop Direct didn't just roll over and take it - they cancel it and claw back the fraudulent discount.

(I'm not taking the moral highground - it's not as if I'd never do something like that myself - but if you do, you have to put up with what you get!).

Though saying that, their faulty exchange service is DREADFUL! They refuse to exchange, they refund and make a new order. Only they didn't tell me this - they just shoved it on my credit account (I initially paid by credit card) and then insisted that I don't get the £30 voucher because it's not my first order! (I did eventually back after around 15 emails though).

is this phone as good as they say it is?

I'm sold on it... Depends what you want from a [hone and what you are comapring it to. It will never be as good as one of the latest dual core phones, but for the price I don't know a better spec'd smartphone handset

yep

i bought mine from isme a few weeks ago using the £30 off code for new accounts, they took 103 out but put the 30 straight in.(_;)

Just search this site for the g300 fgs it's the cheapest smartphone for the money at the moment. I prefer the Nokia lumia myself.

Search that too!

Ice cold as it's cheaper from Tesco, Vodafone and Amazon

Amazon don't seem to sell it, it's £100 at Tesco (if you're going to get fussy about vouchers) and £100 at Vodafone...

While I assume you're taking issue with them including the voucher discount, it's the cheapest place you can buy it... Maybe not the most convenient way so not especially hot, but it's hardly "ice cold"...

I can't agree with this more. I used my voucher both when it was littlewoods.co.uk and now on very.co.uk on my first orders for the discount. Id rather pay what could be 40 pound less for a phone, than order it full price.
The exchanges are a little stupid, as i questioned the colour i received, however the lady told me to reply to her directly to reapply the £30 first order discount on my account should i decide to return.

Shouldn't this be available on other networks by now?

op can u please direct me towards opening an credit account, can only find the link for options account, is it the same?

Yes it is the Options Account, sign up for that then when you add the phone to your basket make sure you select the Options Acct as payment method, then when it gets to selecting delivery enter the code 293GV in the promo box, and you will then see it apply a £30 voucher to the transaction before you complete it. Don't forget quidco at 10%

Yes I thought the Vodafone exclusive period had ended by now. Anybody know anything about it?

Does this phone have any Vodafone branding on the case? Presumably if I root and change the ROM that will get rid of any on-screen Vodafone branding.

Thanks for any help

No physical Vodaphone branding on case, check out the Modaco forums for Roms and bloatware removal

Looks like £30 off finneshed now saying £10 off credit account.

£30 credited to credit account so just leaves the £72.95 to pay , which I plan to pay off in full within the 20 days so that avoid any interest

****, certain group companies are hit and miss, others like Very.co.uk do snide things and things like high value credit check without consent ---this is ok if explicit but not if its not. Your credit rating will inevitably suffer opening one of these accounts!

Rubbish. Although I am annoyed at having to open a credit account, they do tell you, and do tell you it will result in a credit check (it's a credit account, duh...).

Your credit rating will more likely improve than suffer with one of these accounts... In fact, opening Littlewoods accounts are one of the first steps for people new to credit, or trying to repair their record, to improve their credit rating...

Can the £30 be transferred to customers bank account or not ?

Ordered mine yesterday, opened an options account but paid with credit card. Just spoke to customer services who have confirmed that the £30 voucher has been credited back to my credit card. Yippee!!

Many thanks to the OP.

many thanks, just ordered along with ovivo sim...awesome deal 68 quid for a great phone and never top up again...this deal should get hotter....:D

Question about Ovivo: do the ads appear only when browsing with 3G, or do they still appear when using Wifi or the phone in general??

Got my g300 delivered today, ordered on Tuesday, also the Ovivo Sim turned up one day after ordered.

Can therefore confirm:
It has a silver back with white flashings top and bottom
No voda case branding
No need to have phone unlocked as Ovivo sim works as is on Vodafone network (presume same with talkmobile)
Ovivo ads only appear when first internet browsing on 3g (do not appear if you use wifi)
Ads are very inobtrusive, as soon as ad loads there is a 'skip' button to take you straight to page you originally wanted. In fact the ads for me have never appeared as the skip button appears first before the ad loads, so basically is one extra click and for that you get FREE service and data....

Very very impressed with smoothness of phone, no lag and the keyboard very reponsive you should run the OTA firmware upgrade which is official stock firmware (not a modded rom) and which takes it from B885 to B892.

Note the stock keyboard is poor so this is one of the first things you should change, I have gone for Swype Beta.

Also forgot to say that the £30 voucher was applied to the credit account, which I have just paid the balance off, so was a billy bargain overall, even if the £9.90 quidco never completes (only had that happen once in 46 purchases) it still is much cheaper than elsewhere...
