Great phone at this price!

Honor 3C Overview

For The Brave. Honor is a new name in the smartphone industry and one looking to shake things up. It takes a brave contender to go toe-to-toe with giants, however that's exactly what Honor's #forthebrave campaign and brand is all about.

Honor provide modern devices built to a high standard with top-quality components, yet without any of the extra costs associated with big name brands. These are smartphones to do everything you need, without extra features, technology and advertising behind them that you don't need. You won't find an Honor store - they just have great phones and a support team.

Behind the scenes of Honor you will find the communications technology specialist Huawei. Huawei are there to lend credence to the brand and get the products to market, however the Honor arm of their smartphone range is entirely separate from Huawei's own branded phones.

With Huawei's know-how and manufacturing expertise, you can be confident that an Honor phone has high quality hardware; although Honor as a new start-up brand is an entirely unique team. For European customers for instance, the support is entirely localised and offset from Huawei's main mobile division.

The Honor 3C has a decent mid-range specification; whilst it won't be setting any new benchmarks it is still a powerful day-to-day handset, more than capable of getting you though the day and entertaining you as well.

The power comes from a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. With Android 4.2 JellyBean (updates expected), and this specification, you can be assured of running the latest apps and games.

Aside from performance, many are looking for a top-notch screen and camera. The 5 inch IPS high definition LCD display on the 3C delivers up to 16 million unique colours and sharp images. You will also find an 8 megapixel main camera with LED flash, next to a huge 5 MP selfie and video call camera on the front.

Inside is 8GB of memory and for those who carry a lot of documents and media on the go, take advantage of the microSD memory card slot for cards up to 32GB.

For those with a business number and a personal number or maybe a number for when you are in the UK and another for when you are in Europe, the Honor 3C is ideal. It has dual SIM support. No longer do you need a basic feature phone or to carry two handsets, combine them both into one and manage them easily with the settings Honor offer.

The quality of this product and what it offers only really shows itself when you handle the device. Available in both Black and White colour options, this is a cheap phone really.

Very good deal

no 4G? voted hot anyway but could be a deal breaker...

Nice specs hot for me

Yes, not seeing anything about it being 4G unfortunately

£107 on amazon market place

My phones 4G but seeing no difference whatsoever with my old 3G

PhilK , get a 4G sim!! I think there may be 2 versions of this phone, 4G & 3G ....

is 8gb memory OK?
I got a 16gb Samsung s4...system files itself require 6gb memory.....
problems with the os that apps can't write to memory card, seriously impairs the number of apps it can have.....

I like the 2gb ram, everything about this phone is good on paper, 4g version at the same price would be the iceing on the cake, for the majority of us good 3g reception would be a bonus so I vote hot!

8GB would really wind me up.
I know you can do complex work arounds but I'd rather just have the space out of the box!

YES, SEEMS A GOOD DEAL BUT HOW LONG BATTERIES WILL LAST AS DUAL SIM AND ANDROID APPLICATION RUNNING ??

You're not on Virgin Mobile then?

VM is a pathetic 3G service. Speedtest constantly giving me between 1.5 and 4Mbps. Gone to BT Mobile and 4G service is superb from the off. Now get between 35 - 57Mbps. Nearly as fast as my home connecton. I can finally stream HD content and not have stuttering blocky videos. Once you've gone 4G you'll never go back.

I have this phone for a while now and was really concerned about battery too. however if u use it non stop (gaming, videos etc.) then it will last up to 1 day. If you are like me where you can only use phone at work occasionally and then a little bit at home then couple of days usually. The good thing is when I went on holiday it lasted me for 2 weeks on a charge!!! that was with data roaming switched off. To summarise it is great on standby but if u live on your phone I would not recommend. I dropped it to bath with tiny bit of water in it and got a little bit wet all around and did not get damaged at all! Very happy with it.

Battery will last a lot longer if you use Greenify available in the play store. It hibernates background apps saving CPU cycles and your battery life.

Price is higher as a 3G phone

this is way too old, and 4c is starting to sell next week in china, with much better spec and design. around £100 with FDD-LTE.

does greenfly cost? What is this superuser thing it asks you to press?

not a good idea - it only covers 1 (of 4) UK 3G bands

Anyone aware of how far they ran official support of android versions ? ( e.g out of box ota updates , not rom flashing )

Do not buy this phone unless you want to be stuck on old jelly bean software, they do not update international phones

I have had this phone for a while now and its a pretty good phone, annoying it keeps telling me there is no sim card 2 but i can live with that

They released the android kitkat for the chinese version on january 2nd but that apparently breaks things on international phones and 5 months later still no update for everyone else. spend extra and buy from a company that updates their phones

you can find that update huaweinews.com/201…01/ along with a lot of people complaining about no updates for people outside china

These Chinese phones are crap just bought and returned a ZTE BLADE S6 useless phone almost impossible to tether hotspot Internet. I spent 5 hours and upgraded rom and downgraded ROM twice to get that to work.

You're raising an interesting question, indeed it is very possible that out of the 8GB memory, only about 4GB will actually be free, so a bit concerning indeed. Maybe some reviews could mention this.

No, 3.
Its fine in most ways - BUT the only provider that DOESN'T work on the Metro in Newcastle, and as I say - seems not to be so 4G wonderful either. OK but not much better than my 3G was

Thanks fer the tip on Greenify Moonwolf,I've noticed my Motorola moto g doesn't seem to have as much life in the battery,as it did.

Its free to use it most useful function the "hibernating", but you can buy a package if you wish giving you more advanced features such as automation, And some of the features require you to be rooted to work. I just have the free version and added the shortcut so i can just tap the one button and in seconds it hibernates all the stuff iv added to the list. works extremely well, such as When i want peace i can hibernate FB Messenger by tapping greenify shortcut ;-) and get it going again just by opening messenger app again restarts that service. Its very useful.

Selfie camera'? That puts me off straight away!
