Ah xenophobia at its best. Most of what you use and wear is made in China so to avoid this I suggest you start living naked in a field (not in a tent though as these are also made in China)

Hi, can anyone explain how the nfc works on this. I use a pingit nfc pay thing on my watch strap. Could this essentially replace it? Thanks.

I saw a review that said the NFC was for alipay only, not sure if that's changed now?

Thanks. The spec says
NFC support as well. supports Huawei Pay, AliPay and bus cards with NFC payment as well.
I may be wrong but don’t think Huawei or Ali pay is available in UK?

Standard Huawei Smartwatch UK warranty is 2 years according to the Huawei UK website so as this is being purchased from a UK seller you would assume that applies. Thanks.

Not if it’s an import that was meant to be sold in another country.

Having bought the miband 4 some time ago and been chuffed with it, I'm now finding it inadequate as I've started running and want to upload to Strava etc.

Any suggestions/recommend for good value watches/trackers with GPS built in? Was looking forward to UK release of Xiaomi Mi Watch but assume it's been delayed now.

Garmin every time, super reliable. If you can buy a fenix 3 second hand or a newer model 5 or 6 in a promotion. It's designed as a fitness watch and thus integrates perfectly with strava.

Consider Garmin or Samsung devices, both brands sync with Strava seamlessly. Consider the Galaxy Fit if you can find it for a decent price.
Huawei digital face backgrounds are junk.. If this is limited to the same choice of backgrounds that my GT2 is I wouldn't bother.

You should really organise with the seller to send it back to them. It would be a kind thing to do as they are out of pocket now.
Brilliant price for this, Merb. Heat added 🔥
Hi cant see anything in the specs about NFC support does it have it as some people are saying. Thanks

That's about 60% of products we touch on a daily basis. If customers in the West elect to pay upwards of double the current prices for their products to be manufactured locally, I'm sure your request can be arranged.

That might be a bit OTT but I fully understand why you say it. Those who quote big percentages of goods are Chinese are right but that does not mean we have to accept it that way for ever more. We could certainly be more aware of what is being bought and a countries behaviour. You have to start somewhere and paying a bit more for items made elsewhere is fine by me. Need to get the balance right.

Bought one of these via last weeks deal. Upto now I'm very impressed, looks smart and you forgot your wearing half the time because of how light it is. The GPS tracking seems to work well, I use this with huawei health app. For anyone dipping into the smartwatch scene for the first time like myself I would say this watch is perfect. However, I believe you can also use this with huawei/honor products?

All the top phone manufacturers factories are in China. Can you imagine how much a phone would cost if it was made in the UK...

Have you done the recent firmware update on your GT2? It's supposed to have SPO2 blood oxygen monitoring. My Honor Band 5 has that, but I'm old and I find it really difficult now to read the screen because it's too small, so looking to upgrade and I quite like the stats in the Huawei Health app. Might get a Fitbit instead though as some of those can do SPO2 constant monitoring. I swore blind I'd never get a smartwatch, but here I am wanting more :/
Anyone know any good deals on a Google wear os watch with NFC please?
My trusty LG g watch r is starting to show its age so thinking of an upgrade!
Thanks

Good question, it's supposed to have the capability but I haven't got round to figuring out how to enable this. I must also stress that although this is avertised as a "smartwatch" it probably more like a "cooler" fitness tracker. You are limited as to what you can with it, but for myself who wanted one for running purposes it's fine.
Word of caution..I got one of these from the other deal floating around last week. It's a cracking looking watch, however I couldn't get it to work with my non honor no Huawei phone. It basically needs Huawei Health to work and when you download the app, it gives an error message saying it needs a newer version of "Huawei mobile services" which is the equivalent of Googles own. See image. I couldn't find a way around this (admittedly didn't try hard) basically it's set to be used on the non Google variety of Huawei phones.

If anyone knows of a way around this, feel free to post as it's a good watch at a good price.

I have a huawei p20 so this links to my phone via Bluetooth with no issues. But yeja I did read somewhere that this only works with either honor or huawei handsets.

Yes I scanned the QR code on the watch and it kept taking me to the play store. It's not the app that's old, it's saying it needs "Huawei mobile services" why would a non Huawei phone have or need that?

Have you physically done this and got it working or speculating? As I have the very latest app and that isn't the issue.

Yet it doesn't state that in any of the retail literature. Odd. I'm having to send mine back for a refund which is a shame unless someone wants a brand new watch for the price I got it? £65
