Seems a good price for a phone that isn't even out yet. Not sure how good warranty is though.

£475.29 with code 3EARLY & using the Economy Express Shipping option (code courtesy of pavel76):

Nice find! I'm holding out for the Pro. 🔥

Think uk will only get the pro and its way more expnsive than the 'standard' mate 10
Heat for the price.

First non Google pixel phone with treble, should make android updates quicker.

From online reviews, it seems that the pro isn't too 'pro' after all so this version could be the best option among the two considering that the pro version will cost 700 pounds

pro version has poor screen compare to normal mate and has some other short comings too. This one surely is better than pro .... very good price too

Seems a good price, but what do people reckon? Better to jump now or wait and see what the other options are? This model won't be released in the UK, although will be released in Spain, so buying from e.g. amazon spain in the near future (with customer piece of mind) may be an option, although I don't see it currently listed there (probably because the phone may not have released yet?)

If other UK sites like this do start selling this, any sites with quidco/tcb would also be a good shout.

Since this model is not intended for release in the UK, I wonder if all bands etc are 100% compatible for the UK....

It should also be noted that this the 64gb/4gb ram version, and there is also a 128gb/6gb ram version. I would be tempted by the 6gb ram if its avaialble for not much more

Wouldn't trust such retailers, you don't know if they install spyware before shipping to you.

It's Google's latest attempt to fix the Android OS update problem. All devices that are sold with Android 8 (Oreo) come with Treble, devices updated to Android 8 from Android 7 probably won't get treble support, only Google Pixel phones have been updated with treble support.

With Treble when Android 9 is released, you should no longer have to wait for your phone maker to maybe release an update or for the people on XDA to make a rom for your phone. One person would need to go to the Android development site create a rom, that rom should work on all Android phones with treble.

I had searched and the only indications I could find were 'end of october'. So I think it is officially already meant to be available? eglobal says dispatch within 24 hours, so I guess you'll know tomorrow if they actually have it ready to ship and send you a dispatch notification?

Ok did some more digging. Emailed eglobal and they said that the version they are selling is 'the ALP-L29/Singaporean model'. It's good that its not the chinese ROM, which isn't very suitable for use outside of China, but the downside is that (I believe) the singapore ROM still has some differences from a European ROM (which I believe will be L09 when released). The main difference I think is that when you swipe on the home page, it has 'Hiboard instead of the Google Now' according to XDA, and I've also read that there may or may not be issues receiving OTAs outside of asia.

So overall, it's not a total deal-breaker, since the Singapore model is still pretty close a European model, but I think I'd still feel better knowing I have the ROM made for Europe.

Can you install European rom once it's released?

It may be possible. People on XDA are able to change the chinese rom to the Singapore/Asian ROM, but have reported great difficulty. I haven't seen any talk about European ROM but I think this is maybe because its not out in Europe yet?

Yeah I'm not sure there is a European seems like Spain is getting the international version.

I believe there is meant to be a European version - L09 ROM. I just haven't seen anyone claim to have changed their ROM to the European version. I've read that the EU Mate 10 is not dual sim compatible, it can take one sim and one Micro SD. However, the international version can take 2 sims, or 1 sim and 1 microSD. So there does definitely seem to be a model that is for release for Europe.

I just hope it's not too much hassle with ota updates.

Normally you'd expect them to come through fine, regardless of region. but I did come across this post on XDA:

"You may find that you can't do OTA if you're outside Asia. I have a Mate 9 Pro - L29C636 and until very recently, I had to install updates via Funky Huawei. Huawei seem a little odd in their approach to updating - your device needs to be authorized to receive it, but if you were in the wrong region for your phone, it wouldn't update without a sim from that region".

but that's with the mate 9 and perhaps Huawei won't take that odd approach with the 10.

But overall, this is still a great price and I haven't seen a price close to this anywhere. I think I'll hold out for Europe but I understand that doing so probably means waiting potentially a long time for price to come down to something like this, so don't blame you for going for it. Once you receive the phone do let us know how you get on with it!

They charged me €80 to get my LG Gbqck when I returned it because of overheating and lousy battery. Avoid these people
Cant understand why they’re allowed on HotUKDeals. Shysters imho

Has anyone who ordered this received it yet?

Mine arrived today, so far really impressed. Haven't noticed any issues. Received it's first ota update after setup.

It's good to know you can get OTAs outside of Asia. Would you mind letting me know what happens when you are on the home screen and you swipe to the left? Do you get a service called 'HiBoard' or do you get Google Now?

I get hiboard unfortunately, but I downloaded Nova launcher straight away. And Google companion for Nova from APK mirror, so now Google Now appears when u swipe left.

Hi 789HHEELLOO, just wanted to check in a few weeks on and ask how you're getting on with the phone? Have you noticed any other aspects that you wouldn't expect to see in UK version? E.g. non-english writing or some services not working? Or maybe some apps like banking apps not working?

Do you get full 4g reception? Have all OTAs been going fine?

Thanks and sorry for all the questions! It's because I really expected the item to be sold in Spain by now, but I can't seem to find it on any websites, so it seems eGlobalCentral will be my only option. Still feel a bit iffy about buying a non-EU version for so much money. Thanks!

I am using Nova launcher over emui, haven't had any language problems. I've had no issues with banking apps, and android pay works fine. No issues with signal, I am on three. Had 2 updates, currently on emui 8 119. Tbh I wouldn't have known it was a non UK version, apart from the hiboard (which I fixed with Nova Google companion).

thanks! that's great to know, especially about the full 4G signal (I'm on three too) since thats one of my main worries about getting a non-UK device. I think I'll bite the bullet and order this within the next couple of weeks.

Could you let me know which courier eGlobal used?
