Huawei Mate 10 Pro - £100 Cashback Offer (Multiple Retailers - Mobile Phones Direct = Best Price)

Found 22nd Dec 2017
The best deal at the moment is to buy SIM free from Mobile Phones Direct for £649.00 and then claim the cashback making the price £549.00 - which is cheaper than a second hand one from CEX (noticed a deal on here earlier today).

Huawei are running a promotion between 21/12/2017 – 07/01/2018 where you can get £100 cashback on the Huawei Mate 10 Pro.

huaweipromo.co.uk/

Amazon = SIM free unlocked £699.00 so minus £100 = £599.00
Argos = Can't seem to find it on their website, but it is a listed retailer for the promo, so they must be getting it.
Carphone Warehouse = SIM free unlocked £699.00 so minus £100 = £599.00
Three = £699.99 so minus £100 = £599.99
John Lewis = SIM free unlocked £699.00 so minus £100 = £599.00

Mobiles Phones Direct = SIM free unlocked £649.00 so minus £100 = £549.00

In theory yes, but I can't see the major high street retailers like Carphone Warehouse, John Lewis, Vodafone & Three dropping from £699 to less than the £649 that Mobile Phones Direct are offering.
I agree, but amazon might. So fingers crossed for that, have some hot dude
Eitherway it's a great phone, even EMUI is not too bad.
It would be good if argos sold it for the benefit of using the argos card.
Good phone, and no battery doomed to early failure, the big battery able to supply higher power whilst the chipset in fact needs less power.

In English please.
A big 4000mah battery with plenty of grunt.

It is a fact that smaller batteries are incapable of supplying high power without more rapid failure.
The Lenovo P2 must be indestructible in comparison, it having a much slower CPU

what's the cashback process like, how long is the wait with MBD?

44 days it seems from purchase as long as you follow the process. The cashback is directly with Huawei, not Mobile Phones Direct.

Heat added. I shall avail myself of this deal over Christmas / soon after (want to see what happens with price on Boxing Day).
As a mate 9 owner I am tempted having played with one in Vodafone store

Basically, it's an amazing phone with 2nd best Camera on a smartphone (joint with iPhone X. Joint is Pixel 2/2XL)

Performance is amazing, and Battery will get you well over a days heavy usage
Are Mobile Phones Direct any good? I am tempted to place an order but there's a few reviews that make them sound a bit shady.

Need to get an order in before the cashback period ends.

i think they should be be OK as they are one of the seven qualifying companies, I'm just waiting to see if Amazon or anyone else matches or beats £650 before the 7th.
That was my plan but tentative about Mobile Phones Direct all the same. Would prefer to buy from Amazon, CPW or Argos.
Hm
Anyone here actually own a Mate 10 pro? There's also the £40 amazon voucher promotion from Huawei too. Wonder if we'd be able to claim both?
Very tempted especially if you can claim both....
Unfortunately the T&Cs mention the following:

Private customers who are resident in the UK (hereinafter referred to as “participant(s)”) and who purchase the HUAWEI smartphone models stated in section 3 in the period from 18 December 2017 to 4 February 2018 (“promotion period”) in the UK are eligible to participate. Employees of HUAWEI and the agencies involved in the promotional campaign and their family members are not allowed to take part. The promotional offer does not apply to devices that have been acquired from private sellers or in online auctions. The date of invoicing and, in the case of online purchases, the date the order was accepted shall be authoritative. A maximum of one promotional device per person and a maximum of two promotional devices per household can be registered. The promotional campaign cannot be combined with other promotions, vouchers, allowances, rebates or discount campaigns of HUAWEI.

I called Mobile Phones Direct and they claimed to have no knowledge of the cash back offer. The chap on the phone even asked one of the account managers there.

Has anyone confirmed this is a legit deal?

EDIT: Looks legit as the offer is definitely advertised on the CPW website

Definitely legit - the cashback offer is being offered directly by Huawei. I think Three put the offer on their website too.
Yeah, I passed on Mobile Phones Direct though. Have bought from CPW, using TopCashBack you get £10 off bringing the difference to £40 which is fine by me, just wasn't sure about Mobile Phones Direct, looked legit but the fact that their customer services didn't know about the cashback didn't fill me with confidence.
Right decision time.....I own a Pixel XL 32GB which I'm generally happy with except for the low storage space...I keep running out of it! So I'm thinking of upgrading to this phone but not 100% sure and need some guidance! I must say I do like a decent camera as I use my phone for all my photography needs!

Am I mad to get rid of Pixel XL? Am I just wasting my money? Is it not much of an upgrade to warrant the cost of upgrade?

Lastly, I'm a little concerned if Huawei would keep the software updated on this for at least Android 9? I'm not sure about their previous record on software updates. Are there any decent custom ROMs for this phone?

Thanks in advance - and if I did purchase today I would imagine I'm still within the claim period or do I need to have the phone delivered to qualify for the £100 cashback?

In terms of the camera and you mentioning photography - the DXO rating (an industry standard) for the Pixel (assuming the XL and standard Pixel are the same) is 89 whereas the Mate 10 Pro rating is 97

dxomark.com/hua…ce/

If you sell the Pixel XL you could offset the cost of the Mate 10 Pro - plus still take part in the £100 cashback (pending the retailer you purchase it from / t's&c's). You need the IMEI of the new Mate 10 Pro to make the claim - but you could try and get it for delivery tomorrow?
