It's not £1057 for a phone
it's £1057 for a phone and a AYCE contract for 2 years

Respectfully, the deal in my opinion is a good one. To have unlimited data, texts and minutes and a great phone is worth £42 per month to me. To get the same on a Samsung note 8 for example would be over £60 per month. Hence why I feel this is a good deal.

I'm afraid there are not many people understand what this phone is, also the plan.

It is a £700 phone and a all-you-can-eat data allowance plane, which itself is £30 per month. If this is the very phone you are after and you definitely need loads of data, then this isn't too bad. BUT the amount of people fall into these two criteria must be very very very few. Unfortunately, in the world of HotUkDeals, a hot deal must be really really cheap and must be very popular as well....(Like the toilet roll deals that are constantly appearing and got very hot temperature)

I know this - but in total you'll get phone and sim-card - and you'll be paying it over next 24 months - in my opinion this is just not worth it - I bought Honor 9 for £299 and I keep paying £9p/m for 4GB data and unltd min and texts.

Few years back I was able to get decent phone with decent plan for £25 a month - I know phones changed... but I cannot see point to spent over £1000 over 2 years - I know that all phone prices are now nearly the same.

4Gb is entry level for many people - On the Three site AYCE data costs per £35 per month.
That's £840 - without the phone

About 5 years ago I was paying £15 for AYCE data, mins and texts or even £10 if I remember right - now it cost £35 -
£20 difference - that's why I'll be never paying more than £15 for a plan - and people keeps saying this is good deal eh.

You was paying 15 quid for AYCE data/mins and texts.
What planet was this on please?

Are you serious? 5 years ago and earlier AYCE data cost £15 or earlier even less - believe me or not.

To prove my words I've found random article from 2013...

techtalkuk.com/201…ee/

And now people accepted paying £35 which is mega stupid in my opinion for limited data.

Year ago I've took 4GB plan for 9p/m now it cost 14p/m ... in the next few years we will end up paying £50 for 4gb data

Huawei has no resale value, poorly design software, only one is colour available which so boaring , oneplus 5 is much better option

I was too £15 then moved out of a three network area but then three also sent out letters saying the price would increase for all customers

I'm afraid how much YOU'd like to spend on a phone has nothing to do to how much other people would like to spend on a phone. The decency you feel from you phone by paying £25 a month unfortunately is not satisfactory for many many people. Just like cars, watches, clothes, etc etc...
Therefore spending over £1000 on a phone (Mate 10 pro is definitely a much better phone than your Honor 9, I know you don't want to believe it but both a Vauxhall and a Mercedes can take people from A to B, but...), with AYCE data for two years is doable for many people. For this price to justify a deal is more like a completely different story though, hotukdeals votes direction is more unpredictable than British weather...
I couldn’t imagine getting stuck on a 2 year contract with a crappy Huawei...

And what has the deal you got 5 years ago got to do with whether this is a good deal or not? It’s not in the slightest bit relevant.

Flagship phones now cost £700-1000, it is what it is no matter how much you want to carry on living in the past. So when a deal comes up at £1000 for a phone including a contract, it shouldn’t be automatically voted cold and said to be a bad deal.
Your Honor 9 is a much cheaper phone and you’re running a contract with less allowance so for many people your phone and contract wouldn’t be suitable.

The idea of voting on deals is that you vote based on whether there is a better deal available for the product posted, not based on your personal financial situation or your feelings about increasing prices.

Have you got personal experience of this phone then or is that just a generalisation that you could apply to most manufacturers
