If you put it that way then there's lots of no name Apple and Samsung clones... Doesn't quite make them as good as the originals!

Would never ever pay that much for a Huawei. The whole point of these …Would never ever pay that much for a Huawei. The whole point of these brands when they started making these phones was to undercut other mainstream flagship phones like Samsung Apple etc. I'll stick to my Xiaomi phones can get them for half the price with the same specs.

Well, Huawei is not just some brand, but the largest telecommunications equipment manufacturer in the world... Google it, if you don't believe.
Btw - i have P10 Plus for the last 5 months and i'm impressed with speed and the quality of the device.

Don't talk rubbish, firstly the meditek p23 processor on this is nowhere near the kirin970.

Then you mention the camera. It carries very basic sensor which is found on £100 phones.
I'm struggling to actually see any hardware that is the same.
Got mine from amazon Monday after moving from a iPhone 7. Been on apple since 2006/7... Very impressed

Pretty damn good deal!
Is there any contract deals worth looking at for this phone? Went into the 3 shop today and they were looking at £50 upfront and £42 a month for a 12gb a month contract. Ouch!!
Great flagship phone & spex, but this price makes the Huawei Mate 10 Lite just a much better buy at £230 ish!
Typing this from my Mate 10 pro that I got from the Carphone Warehouse deal last week while the Amazon gift card offer was still on.

Absolutely amazing phone. Been using it heavily (video, music, WhatsApp, email, etc) since 7 am this morning and still have 23% battery left.

I'm in a similar boat to you. Been with Apple for 10ish years, just moved to a Galaxy S8. The S8 is fantastic and overall I don't regret moving. There has been a couple teething issues though.

We'll they would be, but now that apple and Samsung have moved in to the 800+ territory, these phone although overpriced, but come across a lot cheaper than the "BIG" brands!

Like I said, a few tweaks.

A bit faster on Antutu, so maybe 59.5 FPS rather than 50.8. And slightly sharper photos if you pixel peep. Worth the extra £400/350%?

That's the logic Apple and Samsung fanboys go by to justify the extra expense.

Assumed that Bluetooth device battery percentage would be built in, had to download batON. Couldn't really find an alternative to iMovie. I settled on GoPros quik app which is great but iMovie was laid out a bit better.

iOS certainly isn't a bug free environment but I've had slightly more on Android. Heavier apps tend to perform better on iOS, Excel as an example.
I've used android as well for the past 10 years but only for specific uses, not as a daily driver so half knew what to expect.

However, im fully aware of all the advantages of Android, things simple as having a nav bar is great, no more trying to reach the furthermost area of the screen just to go back in an app.

The advantages of Android outweigh the advantages of iOS for me so I'll be sticking with it. Certainly won't see me jumping on the let's hate Apple bandwagon though.

No not a few tweaks, a totally different phone with better spec all round. Nothing about been a fanboy at all (I too believe Samsung and Apple are a rip off when you can get phones like this and oneplus at much less than)

Also not a 'pixel peep' as you will know number if pixels is often largely irrelevant. However what is fact is the sensor on the ulefone is an old outdated one used on cheaper phones

Using the word 'tweaks' will make people think it's literally the same phone with some minor adjustments, not a totally different handset using totally different hardware.

The Huawei mate 10 pro is essentially the mate 10 with a few tweaks (made by same company shares a lot of the same hardware) you see the difference?

Now, if it was Vibranium then I would definitely get it.

Probably the best Android phone bang for buck right now. OnePlus 5T close second.

What sort of teething issues did you have moving to the S8? Currently have an iPhone 7 but thinking of moving to either an S8 or the S9 when that comes out.

Agreed, excellent phone & specs... unfortunately I'm going to have to set my sights a bit lower on the Huawei P10 Lite (£180)

This or the V30? As I have a gift card which would work out the same price.

This is a good phone but for that price you can buy a samsung or apple or pixel.

I know I'm not the person you were responding to but I can offer my thoughts, as a fan of Android and iOS:

I had the S8, the S8 Plus and the Note 8. In fact, I had all three models twice since they launched because I kept getting drawn back to them either by friends raving about them or just through seeing someone using one again and thinking 'that look sooo nice'.

Of course everyone uses their phone differently so this is just my opinion but I never found any of last year's S8 or Note range nice to use, even though they were nice to hold. Sure, screens are lovely, but after I got over the initial wow factor I found the biometrics to be awkward to use, to the point where I simply didn't find them as comfortable to just pick up and use compared with an iPhone or a Pixel - or even an Lg.

Just my opinion but I really did try to like them and lost money every time I realised I didn't! They are undoubtedly beautiful objects but for my personal use they weren't particularly nice phones to use. YMMV.

Thank you for that. Very helpful
I have had my Mate 7 Gold Edition for over 3 years with heavy use. Still going strong and up to date. I will hopefully have it for another 3 so I can save up for a Mate 16. Great phones.

Is this worth the extra £150 in comparison to the View 10?

Probably not, only differences are Mate 10 has AMOLED screen, water and dust resistance, camera and 250mah bigger battery.
I prefer to buy Mate 10 instead of mate 10 pro, fingerprint sensor in front, IPS screen, dual sim, and of course 16:9 screen
