A much better deal than the refurb, 90 quid extra for a new phone with an intact warranty.

Extra kudos for Amazon as seller.

Will still advise people that the Xiaomi Mix 2s is a better phone for 80 quid less but this is a great UK offer.

Great phone, had it for about 3 months now and got used to Huawei's EMUI but have to say the battery life is refreshingly excellent, always had to top up my S7 Edge during the day but the Mate 10 pro very rarely gets under 50% after a whole days use. 2 year guarantee as standard and a screen protector already applied out of the box. Calls are crisp and never drop, internet is fast, there are a few tweaks I'd like to see but all in all very happy. Oh and the camera is pretty good as well
I'll get it out of the way early, my only gripe is no HD Netflix, nothing to use that pretty screen this phone has, only downside

search for the HD netflix API, its an older version but it works, or at least it says "HD" before you select videos now. On my tablet not tried with this device.

so i'm toying with this phone(can't find a non-pro version) an s8 or even an s7 edge at £200 cheaper. Specs on s8 seem better for the price though. How does the screen and camera on this compare to your S7 edge?

This is a great device and easily compares with the flagships from Samsung etc. EMUI is fine, ok there's a couple of oddities and the settings menu could be better but you don't use that often once you've got your device setup.

I bought mine for £699 when they were doing £100 cashback bringing the price down to £599 and don't regret it. At under £500, it's tremendous value for money IMO.

Hot.

I'm considering ditching my S8 for this. Cheap in the hand, annoying Bixby button that can't be reassigned without a hack, even more annoying curve so can't use one handed, awful finger print scanner - no where near as good as even the honor 8. Wish I tried it in shop first, just glad it was my company that paid for it.

Camera is good on the S8, image stabilization is a great feature, just not sure that alone was worth the £400 over the honor 8.
These can also be converted to dual sim with a software mod. Seems to cost about 30 USD to get someone to do it plus a couple of quid for a new sim tray.
Voted hot , very good phone

There's a modded APK that let's this phone play Netflix in HD. All other video apps I've tried have been able to play in HD with their stock apps (Amazon Prime Video, Google Play Movies, Crunchyroll). I'm especially surprised with Amazon Video being in HD considering it's not actually listed as being supported for HD on their website.

thanks...good feedback. it's the camera and improved display I'm really after..using a £100 Blackview P2 at the moment which is, I have to say, pretty good for the price except for the camera. Just bought my wife an S7 edge for £300 which is a good buy, was wondering if the extra £150 would justify getting an S8 or £200 extra for this. The Bixby comment is interesting though for the s8.
This or an iPhone 8+?

Yeah you can get it off xda developers. Best way to test what quality your device will play at is to search for a video called 'test patterns' on Netflix, there are a few, and play it for 2 mins. On the top right the bitrate and resolution counter will slowly increase till the device max resolution is reached. I had a galaxy a5 that would only play 480p through the official app but with that HD Netflix app worked to 1080p

Say what now?

You aren't gonna go at me how this is a horrendous deal and I should 100% import a phone from eglobal and that other shop?
Thanks, I really do appreciate that.

Nope, good deal, you will always save more importing but you take more risk and the saving is not enough for some to justify.

I would go for the Mix 2s, you will go for something like this, everyone's happy ^^

Not this myself, I just think it's a good deal, and the cheapest it's been, I'd rather go for a cheaper refurb to save on costs..
Was thinking of buying this phone or waiting for oneplus 6. What do use think?

Me personally, I'd wait for the op6, probably be at or around this price, and from what little I've seen of the op6, it's gonna be a belter.

I've not seen anything that would suggest the OP6 will be better.
An SD845 and that's about it.
This phone is right up there with the S9, Pixel X,iPhone X, P20 pro and the Note 8.
The OPPO R15 has already seen reviews and the OP6 will share most of it's hardware, the SOC being the main difference. The reviews are very underwhelming and as usual he camera is meh.
