Did you work out what the conversion to GBP is from euros with the Halifax clarity before you ordered? Where do you get the conversion ? Thanks.

£383, Google gives you a good conversion, maybe £1-£2 out either way

yeah! exercise caution.

That said... what percentage of Android phones ever get an update anyway? 5%?

Most top-range smartphones will get one, probably two major Android version updates.

So probably 5% of all android phones is not far off then?

That's not your problem - your problem is that regardless of if you were getting an OS or security patch update - Google was updating underlying play services for years. I don't think we have ever had a situation where Google just stops updating that on recently released phones.

Stuff like Google apps and apps that *rely* on aspects of Google services will start to get buggy pretty quickly .

I doubt it. Most phones I've had have had one major update or more available, including low-end.
No Playstore YouTube Google maps etc

Yep. It looks like Google have been forced to play the Trump card. Huawei could soon be the new BlackBerry (but without the security).
They should release a version in orange that comes with a case in the shape of a groping hand.
What a nightmare for existing owners. That will cripple Huawei
Existing phones not affected. Only new devices.

I am glad actually. Huawei is one dodgey company. Private firm helping state spying activities...

Allegedly... no actual evidence has been produced/publicised to prove the spying claims.
As a Mate 20 pro. owner I'm annoyed that I'm dragged into America's (Trump's) trade war with China!
This has a lot less to do with security than it does profit margins and market shares, and once again it's the consumer who suffers!
