Despite being all of them fab handsets, many have backed off buying because of resale value plummeting (recyclers hedging their bets)

Maybe now uncertainty in market starting to dissipate, lost business for Huawei (outside China) in the billions
My lad needs a new handset - wondering whether to get this and give him my P20 Pro or give him this one. Thoughts?

Google is your friend
If anyone have contract with vodafone try upgrade your contract via chat. Yesterday they’ve offer me mate 20 pro for 15gb plan 28.50£ per month upfront 19£ But the best part is I can upgrade again after 6 months !!! So you can get phone for 190£ after all which is pretty cool I think
Do these phones come unlocked?
This is a very good price. Very tempted to replace my mate 10 pro
Is anyone else put off buying an Huawei because of trump acting as usual.

Not Trump's fault, he in fact tried to reverse the decision. Blame the US Department of Commerce and the Bureau of Industry and Security.

He is the head of the government and going by what he said before and the traid deal/ changes he wants with China.
Its either his idea or ineptitude. He cant have it both ways.

Current phones haven't affected by this Trump rubbish, he is just using Huawei as a pawn in his trade war with China,Huawei is developing its own OS anyway..
It did at the outset. My kids use huawei tablets and they didnt receive updates then recieved loads of updates the day or so after when they relaxed the rules.

Same here. Although they say they're attempting to find stock. Do I now have to ring and cancel the contract with them? The email suggests they will attempt to find stock and i need do nothing. Think I'd rather just bin the whole thing and never use this company again. That's the second time it's happened with them.
Mine has arrived this morning!

That says devices will receive security updates. It does not say are still /currently receiving updates. Android is American and could not do business with them till the sanctions was changed.

Also that is what most big companies would say, to limit loss of sales and or confidence.

I saw all the updates on the device myself which is reality and not just a statement talking about the future updates. Will means in the future.
Usually there are 1 or 2 updates every 3 days on average. When the sanctions was relaxed, immediately there was about 8 updates in one day and they dont have a lot of extra apps on their tablets. As i knew what was going on i checked the apps every day.

It was a badly handled issue by the US government / trump.

Some very large US companies was breaking the law and still supplying components from/ through other countries. With no US info printed on the products. They would have lost millions if they didn't do this. Yet I've not heard of any action taken against them. Which goes to show they didn't think through what would happen on Android ban.

It will be interesting to see if they do create an OS and how it compares to Android and how many handsets they sell outside Asia. In specifically the US, EU and UK

O2 wasnt a good company, dont know if things got worse or better when bought over. They was always looking for stock, slow to send out. I believe they take the orders then haggle with suppliers for a better deal on a large amount of handsets. Knowing they can simply cancel any customer order and just refund them if it doesn't work for them.

Companies should be forced to be upfront about whether or not they have the stock or if its a pre order deal and more detail about when you will be informed about a preorder decision. Its really annoying and wastes peoples time and money as they might have lost out on another deal that had stock.

BT was blocked from buying O2

O2 stopped

Interesting reading.

Your usually best buying a handset outright and get a contract or pay as you go sim.

1P mobile uses the EE network
No idea what's going on at the moment. Had 2 texts saying the contract was processed. My account and 3mails says different. Safest option is to cancel I think.
Ordered (on o2) then received an email an hour later stating it's now out of stock. I've used mobiles.co.uk a couple of times and never had an issue so I'll let this one slide.

Also a bit strange how they are still listing it as in stock and you can still go through the order process if there's none available.
Tried to cancel due to being out of stock but need to phone tomorrow as department is closed.

Assuming still in stock, you can get £38 Quidco cashback instead of using the £10 voucher
