Yeah, 2 year Huawei warranty etc. But I think I'd still rather pay £9 more for a uk sourced one.

I like the camera module on the back.
Any difference between this dual Sim one and the single Sim UK version? Other than the amount of sin cards it holds
Currently, it's all the colours that are £440 apart from twilight, which is £485.

I got mine from wowcamera earlier this year at £582 and it's a solid phone and smooth purchase from their desktop site.

Did your comes with a 3 pin UK plug or a 2 pin EU plug?

Their website says they'll make it clear it's if an EU one but I can't see anything on the listing page, so I'm guessing it should be 3 pin plug

Yeah, mine came with a two pin EU plug as it was an EU model (I wanted dual SIM). However, this didn't bother me as I just plug it in to my Anker multi-port to charge it anyway.

Hope this helps

As far as I know everyone knows it will be in October
This is or a p30 pro?

At ~£100 cheaper, this would be better value.

It depends if the UK sourced one is dual sim or single sim.

For you yeah, for me it wouldn't bother me personally. Its a personal thing. Never needed a dual sim phone in my entire life, just like I've never used NFC.
It's like all these excellent Huawei mobile deals are desperately trying to stop me from waiting for the upgrade to reasonably priced 5G phones

Fortunately there is news of the Mate 30 coming and it looks like it's going to be 5G capable just in time for the free Three upgrade to 5G confirmed by Live Chat (apparently Three have the best bandwidth of 5G, but if it's not and the same old s**te as 4G is in Birmingham, I can just cancel the contract once completed a few months later and move to either EE or Vodafone with a potential contract including cashback)

A dual sim phone does have some useful perks, for example a backup signal in case one of the network signal goes down or in signal blackspots (like the latter which happens with Three in Birmingham a lot, far more than it should), and easier to take advantage of network specific offers like O2 Refresh and VeryMe on one device without the need to faff around changing sim cards.

Those are good use cases for dual SIM. For me it's good for:
-going abroad using a local SIM
-popping a work SIM into your phone
-dual SIM on this has dual functionality as it doubles as a memory card slot too

Fair enough, I still use my iPhone SE though because I prefer the form factor and it is still a fast phone, but it is annoying that iPhones do not have versions with dual sim. Seeing that the next iPhone this year will not have 5G capabilities, it's likely I will be switching back to Android (likely to Huawei) this year, but only if it has dual sim. With the amount of innovations in smartphones declining year on year it's likely that dual sim will become a standard feature, I would not be surprised if Apple introduce a dual sim iPhone and declare it as a new feature like they've done to other features recently for the past few years.

Mate 30 hasn't been released yet
I got to say, having got the £256 02 refresh deal...it's worth every penny at this price or at £500. It's a truly remarkable phone and easily replaced my note 9. Pound for pound this is the best phone on the market. It's camera is sensational and the 7nm Kirin 980 defies all expectations. I normally have my phone in power saving mode, and even in this setting, I get all my notifications AND no lag which is more than I can say for my previous note 9. The minute I tried saving power on that phone, I got rubbish lag over and over again...Samsung style.
droyden21/07/2019 16:17

This is or a p30 pro?

P30 pro has same chipset and slightly better camera set up. It also has second generation finger print under display scanner to the point where it's the fastest on the market and accurate to.

P30 pro still lacks headphone jack I think and also lacks the 3D front face scanner for safer unlocking.

3 does have the most 5G spectrum out of all the networks but that doesn't necessarily equate to good coverage I'm sure.

I'm also fairly confident that it would be a free upgrade to 5G but then again it was a free upgrade to using their 4G network which was different to every other network.

More accessible 5G doesn't necessarily equal a good thing either. High battery drain will be common place. 5G is exclusively to be used in highly congested places like London, sporting arenas.

Good deal
The charger is the super fast one, bit of a waste if you can't use the adapter
Had this phone for a couple of months and I don't recommend it. The led notification is so small it's hardly noticeable. Also the vibration is very weak. I've missed calls when my phone's been sat on my desk in vibrate-only. It does charge fast though and has good battery life and performance. Also the front of the screen picks up minor scratches so if you want to keep it pristine you will need a screen protector. The camera is also very good.

What would you recommend for a similar price?

I'd hold out for an S10 deal. Will surely drop in price with the note 10 coming out very soon.

Agree, IPhone XS has virtual dual sim, but I’m on three and can’t have 2 three sims..... annoying.

I didn't realise the UK version was is single Sim - I got one through O2 and it definitely has slots for 2 Sims - are we saying the second one isn't enabled, or have I somehow got a dual sim one…?
Would this be a worthwhile upgrade from a S8+?

I'm not sure tbh bud I just know that one of the models is supposed to be single Sim and I assumed it would be the uk one

Indeed, we should expect one soon. The dramatic price cut was naturally by the whole Huawei-gate that kicked off.
