I'm hoping that they announce a Mate 40x as they skipped a 30x. Loving my 20x
7.2" one of my unwritten rules is never buy a phone with a bigger screen than my........hand
This is my favourite phone of all time (so far). Had it for 8 months which is an absolute record for me and am still very happy with it! I love the camera, the speed (4g and 6gb ram is plenty good enough) and, most of all, the beautiful "flat" screen - the notch is so small on a screen this big that you really don't notice it. I won't be moving it on for a good while yet that's for sure.

Mate 20 x is holding its price pretty well, waiting for it to come down in price like mate 20 Pro

How's your LG flip phone holding up?
Brilliant phone and getting really hard tro get hold of now.
Amazing phone. I thought it'd be a bit too big when I got it but its perfect.
Got mine thanks to Mr Switch from Very with 20% off for £360. I use it like an iPad mini as found it too big as a phone but great that has stylus support as well. Also bought the 256GB card which although expensive I have to say I’ve never noticed any difference in performance between internal and that unlike with SD cards. Literally my only two annoyances are that there is no native landscape mode (tried nova but didn’t do well) and that clearing the notifications doesn’t clear the notifications on apps. Had a few issues deleting apps too but this is so minor. It’s a beast of a phone!

Well I'm thinking along the same lines but I didn't have the word hand in mind

I have the bullets loaded, ready to pull the phone trigger. I'm thinking of Sony Xperia 5, the price is decent on CEX, although their phones may have been dragged along the floor by a herd of cowboys, so I am wary. The Mate 20 X is unique in terms of the massive screen area, so nothing compares. Sony have the thin 21:9 ratio that I like though, I hate the fingerprint scanner though, heard that it's terrible on the Xperia 1 and 5. I also really hate my Pixel 2 which is a terrible phone in 2020, it just annoys me so much in daily use, I really have to change it asap. It's so fortunate that I haven't killed it yet, I would happily shoot it.

So either the mate 20 x or xperia 5, two wholly different (size wise) phones?

No I'm just thinking out aloud. The Mate 20 X is unique, because of the 7.2" screen. The Sony's are unique nothing else have 21:9 ratio screen. I guess I'm looking for unique, but hopefully that doesn't mean crap

The Xperia 5 looks amazing, and if it weren't so small I'd grab one, I had the Xperia 1 for a while and liked it, FPS was fine for me.

How long on average do you keep a phone?
MrSwitch14/04/2020 18:14

Not long.

My Pixel 2 is a tiny phone, I like the size of it. I reckon an Xperia 5 would be the right size for me. I used to have an XZ and that was a decent phone for its time. Anyway this doesn't really have much to do with this deal, so I will move along now

CEX are stealing IP?
Great phone, if you can cope with the size

Huawei, i meant... as you well know

That notch is awful too, why would anyone copy that?
Got the 5g version.... Love it

Honestly, these phones are so overlooked.
Still have this one in a drawer somewhere. Without doubt, my favourite Android handset ever. I go back to it every now and then. Totally recommended.

More of a flop these days
I've wanted this phone for ages but just can't justify getting rid of my Mi Max 3, even with a cracked screen it's brilliant, I wasn't particularly upset when I dropped and cracked it as I'd only paid £165 new, I'd cry if I dropped the 20x
I have this one and for the first time I think I will skip changing phone when contract ends. Not only the screen is exceptional. Speakers are the best in the class, both loud and so clear with nice bass. I can actually enjoy listening to YT clips and even music
Yep, using this phone now, it's definitely my favourite phone I've owned by a long shot!
Love my phone, it ticked absolutely every box I wanted. Headphone jack (it has some sort of built in Huawei DAC setup* - I think), large display and battery, fantastic camera and speakers, even pen capability.

Be aware (don't think this CEX option comes with the proprietary M-Pen) that the M-Pen requires charging via USB-C (unlike the Samsung Notes I've been used to). I seem to have a habit of pulling it out (the pen!) when it's out of charge!

*Porta-fi says, sports a custom-designed DSP coupled with Huawei's third-generation Hi6403 audio codec
