Love to know which genius sat in the meeting at Huawei HQ and decided that the 5G version of the Mate 20 X should have no headphone jack and a smaller battery but a higher price. Makes perfect sense.

Why do they still not have access to Netflix and other android apps?

Obviously he's reading between the lines, it's as plain as day, you should have gone to specsavers

It’s to do with the space needed for the 5G internals but I agree as the owner of the 4G model. This holds zero appeal apart from the 256GB but I bit the bullet and bought the 256GB Huawei card. At least this is heading towards a decent price vs the £999 RRP. Do think that they should have added waterproofing to balance these loses at that price though.

Regardless, an asking price of £999 orginally is a joke
7.2 screen, that's a phablet!

Agree when I got the 4G with all the bits for £360 from very but then that actually not bad value vs the pixel 4!

is the removal of the headphone jack on current phones not to help the waterproofness of the phone?
The Mate 20 X isn't waterproof. Love my Mate 20 X but do miss not worrying about water and sweat when running or cycling but it's a superb handset. This is a great price for the 5G version. Heat added.
Seem to be overly emphasizing the "5G" even in the picture.
Any reason.

For Sam of course
I would to see one of these in the flesh, have the Mate 20 Pro so won't be upgrading but would be interested to see on the next X device and if it would be suitable for me.

I won't bite either way because it doesn't seem very good value unless you absolutely have to have 5G at the moment.
Dont believe the hype.
4G mate 20 x is £499 pound at argos
@MrSwitch sorry to bother you with this mad question. I’ve had iPhones since they began and I’ve decided to save some money and go android. I haven’t got a grand to spend on the latest offering. If you were to buy one phone sub £500 that would impress me and do the job, what would you get?...I trust your recommendation and will buy.

Hmm... No pressure then

I'm a bit random me, so would Probably go with the ROG2.
however, best phone android phone under £500 in my opinion in fact its £502 on Wowcamera, the huawei p30 pro.

Unbeatable in most areas, including camera and battery life, which is two of the things I look for in a phone.

Thanks @MrSwitch I really do appreciate your advice. I’m taking the dive and will let you know how it goes. At the end of the day, I’ll have saved a lot of cash and that’s a good thing nowadays. Thanks again you’re a top man.

No problem mate. The p30 pro won't be for everyone, but it is the pinnacle of android atm in my opinion

Great advice on P30 Pro phone... I have just got P20 Pro and I love the battery on this as compare to my Galaxy S8 and when I watched the videos on P30 Pro (battery/camera).... It is simply amazing and a good design too.... I will also lookout for P30 Pro for myself (or OnePlus 7T Pro)
Voted hot for 5G
