sorted byThe build quality far exceeds the plastic basic laptops and is on par to a £1000 laptop
You are getting a lot for the £150.
You are better off get this 16gb version as the ram is soldered and cannot be upgraded (like most new laptops). (edited)
I have to disagree. As someone who actually bought the version from last year because i was thinking the same, I can very confidently say that that laptop is actually cheaply made. I think Huawei has a long way ahead to compete with Asus and Dell alikes, maybe in a few years time. The corners are made with plastic if you very carefully look at it and it will start falling off after 4 months and Huawei customer service is disaster....
No it was only their phones and it was only in America that banned them
I agree, but for this price and specs you can’t expect a full aluminium build. This is mostly aluminium but has plastic bezels. You can get the d15 for as cheap as £300 and that has the same build. If you care more about the build, the matebook 14 (non-d) is sometimes around £500 and has a better build and aspect ratio but has an i5 (edited)
I am not sure about d15 and its compatible laptops but when I was looking for a laptop, there was a zenbook on sale as well, within the same price range but didn't look as sexy as huawei, so I decided to go for huawei because people on this forum were praising it as a good value, now looking back, most people were just impressed by the specs for the price but didn't have the actual use of the laptop. From my interaction with their customer service and the way they design laptops, they are quit inexperienced in my opinion. So it might be worth going for manufacturers that have been building laptops for years. Huawei might be cheaper for the specs but if the outer area deteriorates so fast, what is the point of buying something that would give you so much headache over the years. I expect laptops last at least for three years under normal wear and tear but I don't think huawei is just not there yet. Maybe the expensive ones are better but within that price range you can also fine better specs from other brands as well.
They are identical. I have this exact laptop and it's phenomenal quality. Worth every penny, don't be fooled by comments like this. You won't be disappointed.
The build quality on Huawei laptops are exceptional for the money. I have had two examples over the years and they easily compete with the top end players and their top tier examples are easily on par with apples offering. (edited)
Yep, with an Intel Core i7 8565U - they did this before, same combo but older processor and 8gb ram and actually looking at my amazon order it was the 13 inch.
I'll do some comparing but my current one is still going strong so hard to justify.
ok go ahead and buy this, I was just trying to help people given how awful it was for me but when i get a hostile comment to help someone so I will save my time and energy.
just look at their trustpilot reviews first. It speaks the volume and I wish I relied on trustpilot more than random comments here (edited)
Just tell me, will CIA come knocking at my door?
You are thinking of thr Heroin Matebook, that has a Ryzen.
Utter nonsense.
Eh??
It’s better not to but it if you’re in America but otherwise it should be fine
Everything’s made in China, Huawei’s build quality is as good if not better than its compet (edited)
Just checked the cashback offer and it ended on 29/03. If you are buying now then not eligible for the cashback offer.
You could be thinking of Huawei Crackbook Pro...?
I have bought one for a family member previously. Completely disagree with everything you have said.
Very weak saying someone's being hostile because they have a different point of view. (edited)
Illegal as in its written down in law to not use Huawei products ? Lol
Quite
Why? For what reason?
Not working for me too. Even though I've signed up now. 😔
It seems the coupon works for the i5 8gm model but not for the higher spec model
That's rubbish :/
In the picture these look like an imitation of the MacBook. In reality they look and feel completely different. The bottom part is solid and metal but the screen panel has a plastic feel to it. (edited)
Matebook?
+ 5.25% cashback on TCP and 1% on chase
Look identical to me
Say it again in English?
as same as iphone clones
at your own risk
Apparently not so that's another £100 off for this model: consumer.huawei.com/uk/…ck/
