Until this US-China thing is sorted out I am reluctant to buy Huawei as I do wonder whether, any day now, we might actually be told that people will be banned from taking any Huawei device into the US. Sounds crazy I know, but we live in crazy times.

US is anti-Huawei and asking other countries to do so as it wants it's own companies to supply 5G equipment

The US says China could force Huawei to shut down it's equipment to cripple other countries economies and telecommunication networks but that's scaremongering not facts

There is no proof of Huawei spying but plenty that US/UK government and companies already spy on us and sell our data

Almost pushed the button on this at £599 but saw it was £559 not long ago so held off.

Very tempted now -- Seems like a great spec laptop and very well reviewed. Amazon warranty is also reassuring.

Any reason not to push the button? Any alternatives i should look at instead - I tried the HP Envy 13.3 but was very disappointed with heat it ran at and fan noise for low intensity apps

It's not touchscreen, not for the UK market. BOO.

It means it supports 4K over the HDMI out

Windows works perfectly fine with AMD too - their processors are at least a match for Intel's!

Thermals and fan noise is one of those things that are impossible to k ow unless you try it yourself, or watch a detailed review - even with a review though, it could have been an isolated issue on their one review model.
Would it be an upgrade from a Lenovo 710s?
This or this HP with similar specs? Nearly pressed buy on the HP, but struggling to compare processing power between the 2. With 10% off the HP is £521.
Does this come with a warranty?

I would probably pick this, nice and premium all aluminium chassis and Quad Atmos speakers.
I would bite at this, but I've had some duff electrical stuff from Amazon, and I just don't trust them for expensive items like this. Also had stuff that's clearly been refurbished, but advertised as new.

Great price though if it can be price matched or obtained elsewhere.

amazon provides 2 years warantty, ihave double checked with them as this product is sold and fulfilled by amazon
COmpare to HP, the build and make is very good, also performance, less heating, good viewing angloes, screen resolution etc
But my main worry is after 2years,if we lost any part, can we get in UK? or may be we need to order fromchina? as this Huwaei model not sure parts available in UK in handy....anyone can confirm

i too about to buy compare to HP model posted earlier

Made my day
Bought it last time round at £557. Very pleased, build quality is excellent, no issues with keys, display is superb although being over 50 anything looks good these days. Honestly cant fault it for the money. Lack of card reader or disc is only real niggle but easily worked round. My opinion....go for it.

Question; Should I buy this from amazon.com? amazon.com/gp/…c=1 comes at a total of ~$720 compared to $750 but with touchscreen
Funny. I was looking at this exact same laptop on the Huawei V-Mall today, and it is listed at ¥3999 which comes to £459 when converted. Damn, those import taxes.
I bought this processor, ram, SSD, IPS screen combo in a HP laptop deal at the start of Jan. I think it was about £400. The laptop is fantastic and the only negative I have is that it is fully plastic and feels cheap. After owning the laptop for a couple of months, I would pay someone £100 or £150 to swap all the internals out for the premium all aluminium build (I came from a 2011 MacBook air). This is a good deal. Heat added!

Couldnt agree more, the build is reassuringly solid on this laptop, feels like it will last.
Price gone back up?
599 now ?
Hold on to it, the price will fall below very soon. because it was £549.99 on 14/02/2019 as deal of the day..

Good quality IPS 1080p display, good Ryzen processor, adequate 8GB RAM should be minimum by now tbh for computers, and good sized 256 GB SSD. Heat added
To some people saying about some bad reviews, be careful as most of the reviews shown on that page are actually for the other model, the Matebook X Pro. You can check under the verified purchase text on the review.

its an igpu but its much more powerful than equivalent intel chip igpus. amd actually just yesterday released full driver support which is supposed to have some decent gains for gaming (previously it was oems doing drivers). if you want to look at benchmarks in the next few days there should be some with the new drivers.
Price has gone back up to £599
Disgusting looking laptop.

I'll stick with me HP Envy 13 (nVIDIA MX150)
Is a vega 8 gpu. On par with a 940m from 2015. There are better laptops with similar specs out there in this price range
