Eugh, I'll bite. Apple fanboys are the worst.

In what way is this machine 'rubbish', where have you formed that opinion? This has been receiving great reviews, and will likely be joining the Dell XPS line at the top of the tree of Windows laptops.

You say 'just spend the extra'... to get something with similar specs from Apple it will cost you £1450, and you will end up with a 13" screen (vs 14" here) and a last-gen CPU (7th vs 8th).

Then on the other hand you recommend just going for a cheaper alternative with similar specs? So on one hand you are advising going for a premium product (high build quality, quality materials etc), then you follow up by saying just go cheap? Why is there no middle ground for you? This product offers Apple levels of build quality and materials, aswell as strong specs, it just runs Windows? If this thing ran macOS and had a piece of fruit on the lid you would be pitching a tent, and telling every man and his dog to buy one.

I'm not dismissing Apple at all, they have some wonderful products and their customer service is brilliant (ignoring recent news regarding them obstructing DIY/3rd party hardware repairs), and for some their OS is a perfect fit, but there is also benefits to Windows too.

Please refrain from utterly pointless comments in the future. Thanks.

Jeez, talk about pitching a tent.

I know, doesn't it suck when people make valid points against your opinion.

Almost as annoying as people who blindly worship a company without considering the alternatives.

a very warm welcome to hukd newbie.thanks for taking the time to share your deal with us today.have some heat
What a rip off
Was expecting more off ... considering USA got $300 off i7 model!
A fantastic laptop. Huawei have missed a massive trick here, they should have reduced the price further so more people could experience this laptop.
But is it apple though

agree they got $300 off or was it a $300 amazon voucher either way wont be ordering until it drops in price.
Beautiful device, if I had to switch back to Windows for some reason, this would be top of the shopping list.

Is this the same as the one that is £950 on Amazon?

Are you sure? I don't think the i5 version contains it?

I've not seen this latest model (i5 or i7) without an mx150, if you click through to Argos link it says:

Graphics:

  • Integrated graphics with 2GB RAM GDDR5.
  • Dedicated graphics card.

Yes it says so, but the same product ref on amazon has a title that doesn't mention the MX150 while the i7 model's title mentions it. With many reviews on the web stating that some i5 models don't have the MX150, it's puzzling...

Would be interesting to get feedback from an already owner of the 53010ESS reference. Anyone?

Also worth asking the question on Argos website, their listing is misleading if it says things like "GDDR5" and "dedicated" but only has integrated Intel 620.
I5 doesn't have mx150, only i7 version
If this has the MX150 I would bite
fenkicorp15 h, 11 m ago

I5 doesn't have mx150, only i7 version

This is incorrect. All models sold here have the MX150. Only in the US is the MX150 limited to the i7 model.

It does.
Ah sorry, knew US i5 didn't have it. Assumed it was globally.
Hmmm, tempted to bite tbh, upgrading storage is cheap.

Wonder if jump is worth it to i7 then ...
It looks incredible but Id much rather pay in installments, simply for cash flow reasons. Argos Card said it would take 7-10 days to confirm which is rubbish.

Any suggestions?

The i7 boost frequency is only 200MHz (6%) higher than the i5 but in an ultrabook, where they will both throttle, they will perform almost identical. The only other difference between them is the extra 2MB cache in the i7. IMO not worth an extra £250 for that and the SSD increase from 256GB to 512GB.
This definitely does NOT have a dedicated GPU.
Answer I found browsing through the Amazon customer questions : "8GB+256GB version is integrated graphics card. 8GB+512GB version is dicrete MX150 graphics card." That would mean the i5 based model doesn't have the MX150... But I'd still love to have an answer from an actual owner of this product reference!
To anyone following this, I just got the i5 model and can confirm it does NOT have the MX150. I'm not sure why the threads I read on reddit stated the i5 model in Europe had the MX150 but it definitely does not. I bought it on Amazon though where it stated in the description that it had the MX150 so I should be able to return. Hopefully this helps and I apologise for my earlier comments and hope no one purchased based on what I said.

Thanks for the update, and yes I'm pretty sure you'll get a full refund considering the misleading product description!

Did you try out the i5 version . Is it still fast and operating without any hiccups. Or did you return it back ?

I didn't give it much of a go before returning it unfortunately but if you're still interested in it, Amazon have reduced the price to £1099.99 now.

I'm thinking of getting it. In terms of what you get for the price. It seems really good. The New XPS 13 with 4k screen and similar processor cost around £300 more
