Both my kids have the M5 (non-lite} 10.8 tablets bought for ~£270 each a couple of Xmas ago. Better SoC, Fingerprint scanner, 2k screens, Google, and Netflix not limited to a measly 480p.

How I wish I could get another one of those for me right now.

I actually bought the mediapad 4+64 last week but returned it as I realised that for watching Netflix/Prime video and Google things, I was actually better off with my 2017 Amazon Fire Hd10 with the XDA toolkit {more sluggish, admittedly}

Huawei make great kit, but their tablets in particular have been hobbled.

Is this groundhog day Mr Switch ?. Or a slightly different tablet to last week ?.Whilst i have Tablet set as an Alert word once i see the price is outside my budget i dont really pay to much attention. This is on of those too.
Great price for this! Have been looking for a new one as my galaxy s2 is getting a bit old now. Was looking at an S5e or S6 lite, but at this price I think I'll bite can't beat those specs for the price!

No worries. I loaded Petal Search on my P30 pro to have a look round. And it has all the apps I need on there to download

Have the apps been curated and not full of malware on that app store?

Stick with your Tab S2 as long as you can. I replaced mine with the S6, whilst everything is quicker, the screen isnt as good!! An defo don't downgrade to the 5e or 6lite

Faster processor. Better build. More ram. And a set of BIG BOY QUAD speakers thy sound fantastic.

The s5e would be a absolute upgrade over the s2 and the s6 would be even a bigger upgrade.

I got an M5 8” Lite for £150 a few weeks back. Very happy with it and does Netflix HD.
Looks eerily similar to the 2018 IPad Pro’s design and wallpaper
I know you can't stream Netflix at full HD but can you download Netflix programs in full HD to watch that way?
If be all over this if it had Google play store

Just bought the s5e for my son. What an amazing tablet! Display is immaculate and the speakers on these are louder than my TV lol!

Go for the s5e and not the s6 lite. The s5e has the better screen (Quad HD Amoled)

Thanks for the input. Its a minefield out there! Although I consider the OP to be a great deal I decided eventually to go with the M5 Lite 4/64, typically because although I can get all the apps I need through Huawei's Petal Search, some of them need the Google play protect to run.

I had quite a bit of Amazon credit so managed to get it with only laying out £168 (original price £229)

I understand dropping on the screen quality, but I don't use it for watching anything,, just a few games (mainly hearthstone... Don't shoot me lol) and online shopping. Banking and everything else is done through my phone. I don't need maps or anything as the tablet doesn't leave the house.

I think it suits my needs for a reasonable price, and a small step up on ram/storage. I also understand that the m5 range is getting android 9 so that's a bonus too as the s2 is stuck on 7.
