Unreal price for this tablet from Huawei to be honest. Been keeping my eye on it for some time hoping it would drop to under £200, and it's finally happened! Well reviewed, with a decent spec and includes 4G on Band 20, for anyone who wants to use a sim card with it!

Does this have Oero update and does it support Full HD for apps such as Netflix?
I have this tablet minus the 4G, case and headphones. Seems to be stuck at Android 7.0 but at least has June 2018 security fixes.

Brilliant screen, speedy, USB OTG, option to install most of your apps onto SD card so loads of space. Only real downside I feel is the multi-use fingerprint scanner / home button / back button / task button - a quick stab is meant to act as a back button but I keep accidentally triggering it as a task button which should be a downward swipe.

Oreo update isn't planned and highly unlikely.

The M5 is a better bet or MiPad4
An excellent device for this price. You wouldn't find the specs on any other device for the same price. Purchase this a year ago for £340, no regrets great then great now.
Good price. I bought an Amazon Fire HD 10 the latest one a couple months ago, it's a dog. Wish I didn't get it. Laggy as feck horrible to use. Should have known better.
Voted hot, been looking for something to replace my HP pro slate 12, but unfortunately I've got used to 12“ screen so I'll need a minimum of a 10" screen.
There really is a lack of decent large android tablets nowadays.
Got a refurb Samsung Tab A with some really good specs and 4G. Brand new condition and boxed all accessories unused. No fingerprint scanner but can live without that and only cost £100 next day delivery
Going to return my Amazon Fire 10 and get this instead. Cheers OP 🏻

As @fishmaster said, the Fire 10 is just so laggy
Might be worth waiting for an Android 9 tab or one that can be updated.

This will be 3 versions out.

Hey, it was off an electrical outlet on Ebay, I managed to buy it when they had the Australian 10% off code on here. It’s a brill set and well worth the £100 with the 4G and WiFi is a no brainer really.

Huawei M5 seems to be the one to go for if you want a 10" tab. I'm currently deciding between the Mi Pad 4 and M5. There's roughly a £60 diff between the 8" M5 and 10" version. The tuned speakers by Harmon/Kardon and Project Treble support (faster updates) is extremely appealing.

Ok... Wow. Thanks.
I had one of these (not the lite version), great sound but the screen didn't look as good as it should and it was pretty slow for the specs so I sold it

I've been ordering stuff from Gearbest for a couple of years, no problems so far and no import charges - but I may be just lucky!

Few years ago people used to look at me strangely when I used my Samsung Tab S2 8" as a phone but now the looks are far less. Just a sign of how big phones are getting I guess.

If you need Oreo, I agree. If you don't, save yourself half the money and get this.

M5 also lacks a headphone jack which is stupid.

Just be aware that the Tab A is a budget device. This M3 is a flagship device. Managed to pick one up myself in the USA for only £142 open box, (mint when it arrived.) For only £42, the difference in quality is huge.

That’s fair enough mate, all I wanted it for was the occasional film on showbox and to be able to use my unlimited data 3 SIM card in it. Has a more than good enough screen and that for what I use it for, it’s a good device. I know it’s not a flagship device, but got an iPhone X I use for pretty much everything. The tablet is just an accessory really, not something I use everyday

That seems unkind of them, given that this is basically an Honor 8 with a big screen and the H8 Oreo update is being deployed now.

What on earth do you people do with your Fire 10" tabs that you find it laggy? The "Big" CPUs are the same as this thing's (albeit 2 instead of 4). Now granted, I bought it purely as a media consumption device (and for the frequent £99 price tag I think it's the best thing going) but I haven't noticed it being particularly slow at anything. Did you rip out the Amazon launcher and replace it with something decent? That may make the difference.

The cores are no where near the same. The Fire largest cores are the same speed as the slowest cores here but they don’t have the same internals

Having said that I don’t find the fire lagg

The large cores on a Fire 10 are A72s. Same as this. Same as an Honor 8.

Edit: If you're just on about clock speed - it's still 80% as fast and the Kirin 950 rarely runs flat out at its top speed.

Any recommendations for a replacement for my Hudl2? Something with dolby sound.
I have this Tablet. Amazing fast and great battery life and the speakers are something else for a tablet. Be aware of warranty issues as mine is from Hong Kong (I bought it while I was on holiday there) so warranty is via Hong Kong and must be returned to a local office there.
To update to the latest firmware if you have the SIM version you will need to put in a local sim from the territory you bought it. In my case I put in a Hong Kong Pay as you go sim and I could Update OTA to Android 7.0. not sure about 8.0 haven't seen anything yet.
Other than that its great but just be aware if you buy from Gearbest the warranty and update issues/quirks.

No Oreo update unfortunately.

Have any Kirin 950 devices received Oreo?
Question: is this the same tablet I have seen for ages being lauded as sporting Harmon Kardon audio? And if so, why aren't they specifying that on the product page?

Seems a great price....just curious about the above.
