Got one of these for my mother a few days back on contract for £19/month (unl mins, texts and 4GB plan)

Fantastic phone for the price. Really does look, feel and operate like a £500+ handset.

Remember this phone is based on the Honor 20 (well, it actually is the Honor 20 in disguise).

It also has the same flagship processor found in the P30 and P30 Pro - the Kirin 980. And with 6GB of RAM it flies.
Cheaper on amazon via livewire after £80 cashback > £219.99

For straight up sim free price though, this is pretty good.

Surprised this is getting heat, since the A90 5G can be had for less - £259.

The A90 5G has:
A bigger screen (6.26 vs 6.7")
A better screen (IPS vs AMOLED)
The same main camera sensor (48MP Sony IMX586)
A better battery (3750 mAh vs 4500)
A better processor (980 vs Snapdragon 855)
An indisplay fingerprint scanner
Android 10
5G
Faster charging (22.5w vs 25w)

No more cashback on it available?
Cashback offer still on?

Is it 60 or 80 pound cashback?

Edited previous comment, yeah you're right it's £80, so makes that one £219.99
Does this run on Android and include all Google apps? Love Huawei - have a phone, smartwatch and smart scales!

It does, it's the P40 series which doesn't..
How good is the camera?

Livewire have good feedback on amazon, not sure on efones tbh
jonboyrobs126/03/2020 08:48

Decent but not flagship. (Obviously)
It's one of the few discernible differences between this and the P30 Pro which I also have.
The size of this phone is perfect for me.
I swap between this and the P30 Pro and I find myself constantly coming back to this.
Soooo tempted to buy this via Amazon + £80 cashback.

I think this would be a worthy upgrade from my Nokia 8. Do others agree? The only thing that worries me is EMUI when I am used to pretty much stock Android :/
"order by 26th march" for cashback....does that include today?! Hmmm
I managed to get mine for £280 - £80 cashback from Very. It's a fantastic phone with a really good camera.
Hows the fingerprint scanner? Looking to replace my smashed mate 20 pro. Struggling to part with 3d face unlock
Does this have Google services? Thanks

How did you get it so cheap from Very?

They sent me a code in the post : - PAQD7 which gave 20% off. Very are also one of the cashback retailers - so another £80 off => £200

It was a while ago, but might be worth trying the code

Doesn't work but thank you anyway..
Is this better than a samsung s10e?

Processor... I'd call it a draw
5t has Android 10
I'd add the 5t is a more manageable size

Looks awesome...and they've added proper face unlock to the P series now too I need Android Auto though or Huawei is over for me Unless they develop Huawei auto that works with the same protocol.

Agree, the size does matter. I think more and more of us prefer a smaller smartphone. These phones are just so so big nowadays. The SOC is not a draw I am afraid. Snappy is Snappy so a Kirin cannot beat a Snappy

On paper Snapdragon is king but noticing any difference in real world usage is negligible if existent unless gaming.
Usually fairly clued up on these things but how long do Huawei keep their handsets up to date with Android version releases?
Excellent phone, got it thru Amazon and now cashback claim validated it will work out about £230 for me. Really pleased with it, definite upgrade from my P20 and I love the Huawei functionality. Still has Google apps preloaded too.

My Mate 10 Pro should be getting an Android 10 update at some point in the near future. From here on in for new models I dont know.

Afraid that while I loved my Huawei, I've gone back to Samsung.
