when I see a Huawei deal I vote hot:) having the mate20x was the best thing
When is it going to go live? I want to check out the promotion
I have one of these and the battery life is not great, have to charge it up at least twice in 24 hours, only option is to have nothing open and not to use it!
£138 if you go via the Warehouse "Good" condition

Really? I have a near three years old P9 lite, so interested in upgrading to something like this. I still get through most days with 30% battery left. Would seem a backward step in that event
I'm just waiting for an Umidigi S3 pro, £204 it was, with their £50 off voucher, not sure if it's still available for that price, but that surely beats this deal... Its the P20 Pro that you want really, better camera and specs, but that sells for A LOT more... Not sure why anyone would bother with the lite version personally..
I'm also cautious of Huawei's privacy, they announced that they're changing all the models to feature apps that don't break privacy laws, but you know... Not sure

Same price at Argos?....https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8142788

I believe Amazon's is dual-sim.
Motorola one vision can be had for £199.99

Same here, also wary of Xiaomi and Miui10

no offense taken, I guess I got a better thing in life (my PhD) after the mate20x, so I used "was"

I think you've answered your own question about why anyone would bother with the lite version..... because it sells for A LOT less.

Motorola one vision can be had for £199.99

I can't justify spending mega bucks on a phone so in this price bracket is the one vision the better choice? Have had Xperia phones usually and currently on a z3 compact and don't particularly want a big size phone

It's a cracking phone tbh . Bought it for my wife on release . Camera is amazing ! IV currently upgrading from a Moto G6 plus which is s fantastic device.
My friend has bought one, so hoping its good as it's his first Huawei after I recommended them, thanks OP

True, the p20 lite is horribly priced alongside the p20 and pro
Edited by: "LukeyWolf" 15th Jul
God no. Please no.

Buy. A. Note .7.

The kirin 659 in this is underpowered for £179 and the camaeras are really not that good despite the "p20" branding. Add to that also the small 3000mAH battery. Just buy a Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 for the same price

Close mine down at night, 60% battery. Next morning 59%.
Do not disturb on so no interruptions to my beauty sleep. Can't complain about battery life at all.
For the price I love it. A steal at £179.

Erm, this is a P20 lite, not a P10 lite, and the reason its A LOT less is because it doesn't have the same level of quality camera, lacks the same ram, storage is half the size and the battery is pants too... Check the specs of the same priced Umidigi S3 pro, check the reviews etc.., you'll find that the S3 pro is waaaaay better than this, the Redmi Note 7, the Motorola One Vision, even the Motorola G7 which is now expensive
And no, i didn't answer MY question, my question was in certain terms, 'why would you sacrifice all the qualities that make the P20 pro an iconic phone for the Lite version, which is lighter than lite! Anyway, the S3 pro more than justifies my spending of just over £200, if people pick this instead then good luck to them, they're not trying that hard to save money in my personal view because there are A LOT better phones available for the same money, you just have to do a bit of researching..

Meh, the Umidigi S3 pro is better than the Redmi Note 7
i do believe no any phone cannt beat with price and value 3 years ago when i bought xiaomi mi max 1 original..for £115 ..still using that phone as a main phone..cannt replace due to battery...over 1 day easy with all my gps internet and other hell on. .i also got s7 samsung but with my usage i killing battery in 4 hours

>Worse cameras, worse processing, lack of gcam support.
>Very little to no Android support, have fun with slow OS updates if any at all, these shenzen phone brands give very little support.
>Reports of malware

Although the 5150mah battery is nice and the Mediatek p70 is a good chip for the price, i would rather take a 660 since you can you can install gcam which massively improves quality on cameras.

no you got it all wrong. it SAYS P20 that means its obviously the best camera phone in the world.

The lite series by Huawei is just overpriced crap. This phone launched around april 2018 for 300, by that time i picked up my view 10 with a kirin 970 for £339, which destroys the mediocre and old 659 found here. For £179 you could easily do better.

Honestly amazed to see how much heat this overpriced phone got
phonearena.com/pho…808 phones not that much different...lets be fair...p20 maybe worse in compare....oh good have no words
guys..you want advice? wait for ebay 10% off and buy xiaomi mi max original for aprox 110 from china....you later say to me THANKS..

Although, small-ish by today's standards, this is considerably larger than the Z3 Compact & the One Vision is even larger/longer - follow this link on a PC/laptop browser & use the 'View side by side' option: phonearena.com/pho…158

By shenzen based i mean low tier ODM smartphones that have lower binned parts.

oemmakers.com/wat…one

Recognize this by any chance? it's a umidigi F1 play except its a ODM phone.

And enjoy the lovely warranty that umidigi is well recieved for worldwide

I can guarrantee you that the subpar camera software will never be improved
Edited by: "ShamWow" 15th Jul
I really don't know why you'd get this over the Redmi Note 7 deal. It's worse in nearly every way and is more expensive. And I personally wouldn't take something without a snapdragon chipset purely for the future community support. Xiaomi phones will get unofficial support for years to come purely because of how popular they are in Indian territories. I don't think you could say the same for other Chinese phones, especially the no-name ones like above.

Erm, yes I'm well aware this is a P20 lite deal thanks.

I was merely pointing out that I have a P10 lite (which I got for £140 new after doing a lot of researching) and I am perfectly happy with it. I didn't see the benefit of paying 2x to 3x more for a P10 or P10 Plus at the time.

My phone zips along perfectly fine with (only) 4GB RAM, storage isn't an issue with the micro SD expansion and my battery easily lasts a day, which is more than enough for me. The only thing I admit could be better is the camera, but the shots I get are perfectly acceptable.

Of course all that's just my opinion which I'm entitled to just as much as you are to yours.

Take care
Now £169 and with £10 audible credit. Got one for my daughter £159
