I have never had a refresh contract before so just to make sure I have …I have never had a refresh contract before so just to make sure I have this right in my head, As soon as I receive the phone I can all O2 and cancel the airtime and just pay £20 x24 +£99.99 which is the phone plan, is that right?

What to do in more detail (taken from another thread)...

    1) Follow the get deal button, purchase the GB and tariff

    2) The day you receive your brand new phone & SIM, put the SIM into phone & go to MyO2 (app or website). & from there request your unlock code

    3) Next, call 202 from the same SIM as it will make things much easier. Go straight to the 'I want to leave O2' department or similar (could be 'You're thinking of leaving us?' Choose the right option, as that will connect you with the right customer support people much quicker

    4) Tell the CS rep you want to pay your device in full and cancel the airtime. They will ask you why. Tell them you don't think the airtime is good value for money, but you want to keep the phone because you think it's outstanding value for money. They will ask you for card details for payment. You give them the details and that's it - they'll process your payment & cancel the airtime for you - this will become effective in about an hour

    5) You own the phone from that point on. Assuming you have done this straightaway, there won't be any charges, otherwise you will have to pay as much airtime as you have used

    6) Unlock code will come through in about 2 to 48 hours.

In the 1st month they might take the airtime from your bank account through direct debit because they generate the bill the next day you apply for a contract, but this is usually refunded the next month. If not, call them again & request them to refund you. Sometimes, they will not agree no matter what, so be prepared to take the hit on the 1st month.

Many people have taken advantage of refresh offers in the past.

Worth reading about credit checks for these types of deals, & also if you're likely to be applying for credit elsewhere for more important things (home mortgage, etc) in the next few weeks/months. MSE article: Beware split tariff mobile contracts if you're about to apply for credit. Apparently your credit score is affected even if you pay in full when the phone arrives & they agree to cancel the airtime contract without fuss - as you'll be doing in this method.

    Hi

I have just popped across from the standard P20 thread to say, you lot think you're so damn superior, with your flashy Pro model and your pointless three cameras. Stay the hell out of our thread with your ostentatious BS.

    Good day, Sirs!

    Best deal so far
Do all plans have this refresh thing?
    I just want the headphones!

    I just want the headphones!

    You can have mine
Also, a couple of things to point out about this phone.. it's 1080p rather than 1440p and it has no micro SD card slot. With all the deals for this phone going though on this site I've been very very tempted. That said though I have an S7 Edge which is 32gb and a 128gb microSD card, my screen is 1440p and I have a gear vr.

Although I am still tempted by the P20 Pro it's not as perfect as I'd like. That said, the large screen, big battery and camera do interest me on this phone. I'm hoping Samsung will come out with a decent competitor at a similar price.
I been looking to get this phone SIM only which appears to be £799.99 most places, I have never had a refresh contract before so just to make sure I have this right in my head, As soon as I receive the phone I can all O2 and cancel the airtime and just pay £20 x24 +£99.99 which is the phone plan, is that right?

If so that is a bargain

Disagree. I have more than that space already and once I load it up with movies for when I go away it easilly gets eaten up. Plus one of the reasons I like Android is the expandable storage.
