Huawei P20 Pro instore at EE for £509

LocalFound 6th Apr
Went into EE store to pick up my pre-order Huawei P20 Pro, and they have the Huawei P20 Pro on pay as you go, for just £499 when you top up £10. Totally £509, which is way way cheaper than what car phone warehouse are charging £799. You cant claim the headphones anymore, but for £499 for a flagship phone only launched today is a bargain price.
Community Updates
This is a confirmed national price at EE in-store only, so no
need to doubt @JamesLive especially as it is his 1st deal here!

Details:

Huawei P20 Pro on PAYG £499 + £10 min top up
Huawei P20 on PAYG £389 > £419 (random prices seen) + £10 min top up

Both (obviously!) are subject to actual stock, getting to the bigger EE stores, of which they have the P20 in limited amounts for this weekend's sales, the P20 Pro is sold out at EE nearly everywhere, due to the free bose headphone deal ((expired 5th April)) so expect to wait at least 3 weeks for the PAYG P20 Pro version, to pop up in smaller stores, most EE stores will not even get the P20 Pro physically, as all the pre-orders were for contract only sales first

Go into an EE shop yourself! Then you will apologize to me, because this is the price. The EE shop i went in was EE Chaplefield Norwich
About the price it should be to be honest. The headphone offer was pretty good marketing by Huawei. Sell a £500 phone for £800 and throw in a ‘free’ pair of headphones that they probably paid £100 for. Given the pricing of the Mate 10 range, £400 for the P20 and £500 for the P20 pro is probably about right so I think this will be pretty standard price for this. Android phones always drop to well under RRP within a couple of months. Don’t think I’ve ever seen it happen on launch day though....
More like the price it should be tbh. Your a fool if you paid the 799 for it on pre order.

lol in case you didn't know uploading receipts go along way on here.

I pre-ordered on contract, so wouldn’t have a receipt other than contract paperwork. While waiting they had a display one set up, with the payg price. I even said to the staff member if that was correct, and he said yes. Considering carphone warehouse are selling this for £799, this is an amazing price and it only launched today.

Be Careful Guys...i read this

"So what's the deal? Well, if you pre-order a P20 or P20 Pro before the end of April 5, you'll be able to claim a free pair of Bose QC35 II Wireless Noise Cancelling headphones (worth £330)."

It may have passed the date you can get the Headphones.

Well i got on contract and the bose headphone deal. Whether you agree or not the phone is worth £799, at £499 at EE its basically priced in the mid-range price bracket.

There is absolutely no way Huawei were paying anything like £100 for QC35 IIs, easily more than double that, I don’t care how many they bought.
In EE store in Leicester. Price correct. £510 including £10 topup. None in stock, have to order it in
Did they have the twilight colour or just blue/black
Also ordered on contract at the last minute yesterday, with headphones, 10GB for £38.40. {Unidays have a 20% code}
Worked on the (probably flawed) logic
Data contract equivalent to £15/mth
Headphones worth £240 resale = £10/mth.
Leaves the phone cost at 13.40/mth + £50 initial cost = £371
Also quidco £93 tracked so £278!?
P20 isn't £389 it's £429+ top up, PRO VERSION is definitely £499+£10 tho

No afraid not. Don’t think anywhere in the UK selling the twilight (purple)version.I went with black.
Would the phone be locked to EE?

I think it will come to the UK eventually. It was available on the amazon france deal I saw yesterday but for €899

Will be, however I believe they unlock PAYG phones free.
Not available at Sheffield Fargate store, no pay as you go deals for this phone at all

Might be store specific, hot if you can get it!
Are these dual SIM? Personally waiting for oneplus 6, but have a feeling they'll be charging around £700.

Well it was organised by a marketing firm, so yeah!

£799 is total overkill. They have phones with pretty much identical specs, sans camera, for £200-300+ less.
Voted hot, @bitcoin5 saved me some investigation work

well done @JamesLive

Yes, but should work on all operators that use the EE network. Which is a lot. BT Mobile, Plusnet, Virgin, Asda Mobile are the ones that spring to mind.

Even the massive stores have actually had no stock delivered yet to sell, the 2 mega EE stores will have them first again and a few larger ones have the PAYG P20 not Pro, in stock for the weekend but they will shoot out, as the stock on the official Huawei site, that was posted last week on here, is still not in stock either!

The price "was" £389 + £10 top, maybe that was wrong as well, but was on the twice daily blackboard, it is now £419 + £10 top up, so maybe some store managers are doing their than'g on the pricing, not that it matters as NO ee stores have any P20 Pro's in stock and the distribution from both pre-stocked DPD forwarded warehouses has gone completely! I will add the variation in prices to the added PAYG info Thanks

Surprised that there is even enough stock for all the pre-order contract P20 Pro's on EE, as they tend to always mess up stock levels on most launches!
Just been to Walsall Argos EE and main EE in town. Both are OOS

Sorry to say not this price in Manchester fort EE shop. May be local deal
Just called stores in London (from Westfield Stratford to Lakeside shopping centre) all are saying the phone is OOS and is on contract only. They all said there is no price for sim free and that the price will be known to them in a few days.

I don't know whether to open my P20 preorder, or wait for a few days see the price and return the preorder to CarphoneWarehouse.

Decisions, decisions....
Called the Leicester highcross store and they said the phone wasn't available to purchase outside of contract.
checked woodgreen store also saying only availble on contract

Is it for pre order only or do they have it in stock? I think they charge you £25 if they don't have it in stock and if the price changes by the time it comes you then have to pay full price
