This is low end. Your Mi 8 is a recent flagship. No comparison!

Yeah as @RockBlesnar said, I wouldn't replace a mi 8 with this.

What should I go for then? 20x? 9t pro?

Nowt, but coming from a mi 8 this will feel a lot more underpowered

Yeah, any of those two, maybe even a snappy 6/7 series.

Not necessarily if you're not a heavy user

This is a fantastic phone for the light to moderate user, definitely not for gamers; one of most beautiful designs in market, strong cameras for the money

Voted hot, you're welcome OP

I'm looking at the Mi 9t on ebay with the 10% off, but can't find one I can be sure is a genuine EU model for the warranty. Any chance you've sussed this out @MrSwitch

I think the selfie cam may seize up from lack of use though...

No... Definitely none with warranty on ebay currently, as there are no UK/eu sellers currently selling it unfortunately

I agree with @xavierluther

Compare specs here: gsmarena.com/com…545 & external looks here: phonearena.com/pho…113 (side by side on a desktop browser is best).

Do you need NFC which the Mi8 has? The P30 Lite variant (MAR-LX1A most likely) in this deal does not have it - to be 100% sure you should contact the seller via eBay to ask.

Am a heavy user. Commuter. Use NFC. Only frustration I have with mi8 is battery didn't last long enough and phone didn't support wireless charging, so constantly trying to find charging points.
Oh and the screen breaks when you drop it

This appears to have NFC, according to other retailer selling same variant (51093NNJ)

What kind of budget do you have? Phone must be new or you'd also consider used? Is camera important?

Taking a quick look in budget of less than £400, found Xiaomi Mix 3 and especially, if you can stretch to it, Huawei Mate 20 pro because of the massive battery.

I've been looking at the k20 Pro for a while, that 4000mah battery is a massive plus!!!

No wireless charging, but with that kind of battery you'll surely make it through the day!

Protect screen though with cover, massive one too...

Basically my iPhone is a pain to charge. It’s always hit and miss. I’m using a genuine apple charger, yet I find myself having to hold it in a certain position for it to charge which is a nightmare.

I literally only need it for calls, texts and data and the odd family photos. Apple just seem to get worse and worse hence me wanting to shift away from them

Hey switchy I’d really appreciate some advice here too. I was an early adopter with the original iPhone and have been with them ever since but pricing and greater competition have turned my head. I also have a ton of music in itumainly from burning my own cd collection and photos in both iPhoto and the cloud.

Its easier if you have a computer/pc.

By transferring everything over using the play app via your pc
