Wouldnt recommend buying chinese phones. If huawei is spying with 5G …Wouldnt recommend buying chinese phones. If huawei is spying with 5G networks, positive it happens also with their phones.

If Chinese state secuity want to spy on my mums phones. Getting the secrets of cat memes and how aunty Pauline is getting on with her piles. Then go for it as long as the phone is cheap enough.

Firstly, not actually proven they are spying using 5G networks.

Secondly, you think that Governments in the West are not also spying on you? Cute.

Hmmm..
Aren't we so lucky that our government don't spy on us in the UK and US?!
If you guys are worried about Huawei spying on us. Check Joe Rogan's video with Snowden on YouTube.

Anyways. What would be better p30 lite or mi9 lite. Both seem similar but one is £30 cheaper..

I don't mate tbh, I could only go off reviews on the 9 Lite, tech utopia seem to like it. The s8 is getting on a bit now, don't get me wrong, fantastic camera when it first arrived, but even these newer "budget" phones are just as good as it these days.

Why does it need a depth sensor?

Well, unless I've misunderstood their function, to take decent quality photos with a good bokeh effect. To be honest if this can be achieved without that, and without having to manually adjust using a native or additional app, I'd probably be happy with that too Any suggestions? I like the size of the Pixel 3a but not the price, or the size of the Samsung S10e. I don't have the biggest hands, and combined with stubby fingers it makes one-handed operation on anything the size of my S8+ or bigger is impossible. Would also just like something more compact and lighter for sticking in my pocket, but a good camera is important. One with good low-light performance preferably.

Yes, I know it's getting on a bit, hence keeping my eyes out for something decent and possibly being able to sell the S8+ on before it's got no value at all. I don't want to pay flagship prices any more, but the Xiaomi range, at least the higher spec ones, are just too big for me. Always keep my eyes peeled for your posts, thanks for your efforts

Sorry I csnt help anymore, tbh the 9 Lite I'd choose all day over the p30 lite for the processor alone, the kirin 710 in this, whilst good, can't compare to the SD710 in real terms.

The Pixel and iPhone probably take some of the best ‘bokeh style’ photos and neither has a depth sensor. Most phones use the secondary camera to get depth information, although up till this year the Pixel used subpixel information.

Thanks for that, I won't consider it such a necessity then. Still tempted by a Pixel 3a even though it's a bit more than I'd want to pay, I like the size, and the camera is meant to be good in low light conditions, just not sure how the rest of the specs compare to others in the same price range. Not very technical I'm afraid.

I would say that the 3a has by far the best camera in that price range, as it’s basically on par with the Pixel 3 and is therefore competitive with the iPhone 11 and better than the S10 (for normal shots).

Motorola G7+, One Vision would fit your needs, but maybe not your hand/pocket as well.

Nokia 7.1 is compact and has depth sensor, camera pretty good for price apparently but unsure about good low-light performance.

Without dedicated ToF sensor but compact and with good overall camera performance, don't rule out Huawei P20 , Honor 10/20.

Same P30 Lite with UK warranty, for not much more than this - even regular P30 can now be found near £300 mark, probably best choice alongside Pixels of any generation

tbh if it’s on your phone, particularly of the android variety the world already knows google sold it to them.
Bought Airpods from eGlobal 2 weeks ago. Not delivered until this moment, i sent them emails they dont respond. Trying to get hold of their delivery company (Hermes) but got no where.

I guess I have to escalate it to Paypal to get my money back. AVOID eGlobal
Also, the p30 lite does not come with 6gb ram. Is this just one of those Chinese fake phones with a Huawei sticker on it.
