OK, I'm going to ask a silly girlie question now, if I purchase one of these deals, why is it better than having the phone on contract?

Depends on the contract deal you get, I wouldn't say it was better or worse either way, two completely different deals.

In terms of the phone itself doesn;t make a great amount of difference. Most phone contracts seem to be around 24 months so just a case of working out the 24month cost of the phone and contract. Generally mobile phone companies charge a slight premium on providing the phone so if you can buy seperatly then works out cheaper for yourself.

i.e £230 / 24months = £9 per month on the phone. If you can find a sim only to suite your usuage needs (sim only contracts also tend to be a bit more flexible then being on a phone∼ contract) then add them together.

Just a quick search on carphonewarehouse, lowest contract for this phone is £17.99 so £431 over 24 months.

Sim only for same data/call allowence and provider is £3.99 so £230 + (£3.99 * 24) = £325.76

Worth doing the maths though as isn't a 100% rule.

Thanks so much! Off to look at Sim only deals
My Mrs wants to move from Iphone to android, I pointed out the A51, but are any of these phones considerably better. All she wants is a good camera and good battery to be honest.
is this a good upgrade from a pocofone f1?

I think it was for the P30 on a rolling 15gb contract. Then cancel the contract before the month ends. On O2 online.
