I'm not sure it is worth to buy from here when you can get it from O2 8GB version with proper 2 year UK warranty for 505 (Thanks to Mrswitch deal) and claim the huawei GT watch worth £179.

Seems a good price. But my P30 Pro has 8GB Ram! Are there two versions?

Yes, the 6gb and 8gb
I think people need to be aware that with Huawei - and definitely Samsung - you will need a proof of purchase. Who knows whether they will accept Wowcamera. I think the claim of 2 years warranty is hugely misleading.

Not always true mate. I’ve had Samsung warranty work done without a receipt

I doubt you would notice the difference between 6 and 8gbram

And that is where the risk comes in. Not everyone will have the same experience. I was speaking to Samsung a few days ago about warranty from these places.

The model also has to be UK/Europe.

As far as I know the UK version is 8gb and not 6gb.

Yeh fair enough. That’s one thing I like about Apple. Easy repair process. No questions asked. No receipt too.

P30 pro just for £505? Are you sure?

I agree with this today. However, if you intend to keep this a couple of years or play big games, RAM may start to be an issue.

Two phones that aged really well are the Nexus 4 and One Plus 3. They both had way too much RAM for there time, and therefore aged very well. The 4GB RAM in the Pixel phones is a joke for the high cost of the phones.
All phone experts, a digression sorry. which one out of samsung s9 and Xiaomi Poco F1 128gb is a better phone, both for around £200? Thanks

for me, the sS9, amoled display and wireless charging, both thing i wouldnt want to compromise on. But the camera is probably better on the F1.
Was tempted by one of these for months. Just noticed they take nano memory. NOOOOPE.

An email receipt/invoice is proof of purchase.
Id wait for the pixel 4 - not that far away and will probably be better
I have this phone and it is amazing, can charge insanely fast, best photography and amazing look. 10/10

How about the speed (6gb in F1, FYI i dont play games etc) and battery seems significantly better in F1.
People buying Huawei are in tough luck, they are freezed out of Android ecosystem, even if deal is agreed, it’s risk, that will keep playing, unless you want Hongmeng Aka ArkOS, but riddle me this, if likes of blackberry, MS, Nokia failed, how long would Chinese government fund a dead OS before launch, maybe, maybe not? Why would anyone buy Huawei knowing this risk is beyond me, but than phones are for calling, not gaming or apps right?

They can use the serial number nowadays, it’s not 2002 anymore!!

You need to be accurate with what you say. Yes it's 2019 not 2002. What is your point?

They WANT the proof of purchase. If you don't know what Samsung's or Huawei's position is on this, then it's misleading to comment in such a way. Unless you have personal experience of dealing with either after purchasing from a non reputable UK retailer?
It seems to be industry standard now to use serial numbers to track purchases. I have personal experience of both Apple and Sony not requiring a receipt. Obviously it’s still good to hang onto it ‘just in case’ but it’s usually fine.

You talk very confidently about something you obviously know little of. Ive purchased from wow camera before and its easy to cross check your imei number on huawei's warranty checker.

Have you spoken to Samsung or Huawei? Have you tried to claim?

Give them a call or an email and then feed back to us.

Fyi - yes it's easy checking the IMEI number. Again, this does not guarantee anything in terms of them fixing your phone.

Can still be had for £505 from o2 with a bit of live chattin, not dual SIM but it's the 8GB version
Or with Three, with a 24 month contract, with unlim calls n txts, 100gb data for 38 quid, with 65 back on quidco and a free GT watch you could sell for roughly 120 making it around £30 a month
spinach_pie17/07/2019 14:33

You certainly implied it. I've got a Note 9 from them with all relevant information and registered with Samsung for a 2 year warranty.

I absolutely didn't. Please show where.
Is this description right....? The P30 pro has a 4,000+mah battery and a 6.4" screen not 6.1, that sounds more like the P30 (and 6gb ram)

This website taught me a lesson in buying new smartphones always wait a few months and the price becomes just right .. no point shelling out retail anymore

I had to have a warranty repair through Samsung... They wouldn't take my email from EE, and I had to go into EE store to request a printed proof of purchase with serial number on it... It was a hassle.

Also, I did use an online Samsung IMEI warranty checker which tracked correctly but was no help in the shop.

When I had my Galaxy Note 9 replaced under warranty, I didn't need a receipt for Samsung UK, and my Note was purchased in Italy.

That updated description might have been done by a mod, the desc is for p30 and not pro

P30 PRO IS 6.4 while is 6.4 while p30 is 6.1 inch and yes its 6gb ram, there are other versions with 8gb ram
