No it isn't. This as it stands, is the last of the Huawei phones to receive Google Mobile Services.

It does have access. It's no different to any other android based phone.
It was the last Huawei model to be manufactured before the Toddler in Chief's ban. Any Huawei phone after this one will be subject to Trumps list and will not come with Google services out of the box.

Every phone was failing in this app on the dates in question. This was spectacular misreporting. The bug was with the Safetynet app itself, and if you look back through the reviews Samsung and other device owners were reporting the same issue.
I’ve owned a dual SIM P30 Pro for months, and the only major criticisms I have are that the curved edges often lead to me accidentally skipping YouTube videos and other parts of the interface when I’m picking the phone up. The camera is decent (although not as spectacular as the reviews led me to believe) and the battery life is spectacular, with very fast recharge times to boot.

There are still one or two bugs in the software - for example if you accidentally activate Google Assistant while the phone is in Airplane mode, the screen will stay on....forever. Whilst this might not seem that critical, it could lead to some severe screen burn.

The phone is also now three months behind with security updates, which is a bit disappointing. For reference, my friend’s S10 5G received the November security update *yesterday*.

I think the camera not being brilliant is subjective.

Do you use RAW or jpeg? Do you use it to it's full potential?

My p20 pros photos often get mistaken for dslr pics, and the p30 pro has a higher rated camera.

I know how to use a camera (and I do). I never shoot in raw on a phone, as I use a phone primarily for convenient snaps, not usually for art. If I have to shoot in raw to take better snaps than a Pixel or an iPhone 11 then I think that’s a failing - good auto snaps and good raw photos don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

Re the camera not being brilliant as a subjective statement - well that’s always going to be the case. I can say that I’ve taken some nice shots on the P30 Pro but as a reliable ‘people-snapper’ without treating the phone like a DSLR it is not as good as other phones, subjectively speaking, IMHO etc. Shooting all your shots in raw is highly inconvenient and doesn’t make the most of the current (excellent) image stacking capabilities manufacturers are now using, which are mitigating the puny sensors. If you shoot raw, you’re just using the data from that one sensor in that one moment in time. The P30 Pro has a bigger sensor than most current phones but it’s hardly DSLR territory.

This phone is fine. When Huawei got banned by 'Murica and Google no longer proved its services to Huawei... The first phone that got affected by this d the Huawei Mate 30 Pro (brilliant phone btw). So the P30 Pro is the part phone that comes with all the Google goodies. Google goodies are things like play store and Gmail and all that. If you want applications, you need the play store. So it's kinda important. Android itself is open source and free to use, it's the Google services that are not. With regards to P30 Pro, it will continue to receive updates (as far as I'm aware). So this should be fine

I don't usually shoot in raw. The phone is more than capable of equaling most phones camera quality out there as proven by rigurous tests.

But as you said, opinions are opinions 😁

‘Rigorous tests’ are pretty meaningless compared with actually owning and using the phones for six months.

Yeah but you’re clearly ignorant as all the reviews say it’s amazeballs so what does your personal hands-on experience matter? I mean obviously those reviewers were handed free flights, free phones, free beer, free food, free hotels and other freebies but they still know more than you.

Still not really relevant though is it? I’m actually using the phone every day. My opinion doesn’t always meet with professionals, and if they were universally right then people into cameras would only every buy phones that DXOmark or DP review tell them are the best. As it stands I disagree with a lot of their opinions on both cameras and phones, so if they tell me a phone has an amazing camera and I disagree then that’s all that matters to me. If I hadn’t tried the product then I would agree.

You read it how you wanted to read it. No part of my comment had me ‘keep going on about how I’m right and you’re wrong’: I just talked about my experience.
I have had the P30 pro since release. Great phone, good performance, I have taken some great shots with the camera, especially using the aperture mode. No issues with any Google services.
At this price the phone is a steal. Great deal.
Amazing price for this phone. I upgraded from P20 Pro to this one and all I can say is Wow. It's by far the best phone I've had and probably one of the best on the market. The camera is stunning. You can't go wrong with this price honestly.
Yes, i have this phone, it does have Google pay and it is not affected by the ban.
Depriactions are so bad these days, phones dropping £300 only 3-4 months after launch. Whether it's Samsung or Huawei, it seems to be better to wait a little and buy these phones.
Can't decide between this, a galaxy S10 or One 7T Pro Mclaren edition???
