Surely it better deal on one of the current multi cashback deals?
Should be able to get the 256GB for around this price if you shop around

It's just more for your dosh, get it if you can - you can put a lot of lossless music in-there

This is really good deal OP, 3-pin charger for this money at last, from approved, good UK retailer. Excellent phone

Huawei must be desperate to sell, so is Google with Pixel 4 line, who can blame them?

New model coming out, standard practice?
So how likely is the cashback?

Looks like this deal is not going to be hot, but it is not a bad one in my opinion.

Maybe when people see the 550 they give cold straight away without reading. Or they just do not prefer cashback. Do not know.

More a case of 128GB not being enough. I've got the 256GB with a fair smattering of apps, videos and music and I'm sitting with 101GB free. 256GB probably too big for me, but 128GB would be too small.

Because it's not selling enough of newer models (without Google support), this is 1-year old model, supported by Google (for now)

Maybe they not selling enough outside China but in China they do not depend on Google services and they are selling OK.

Absolutely, they own 40% of Chinese market

However, to pretend they're not struggling to sell elsewhere wouldn't be very smart

...but that of course must be the official propaganda line coming from Beijing, like the one about Coronavirus under full control

That doesn't have to do with this deal, it's an excellent deal, fantastic phone, and hope Google support continues for buyers, I've got a Mate 20 pro that I'd love to get future support for

Had this phone since day 1, it really is an excellent phone... And still is...
Great deal. I was holding off on the Giffgaff SIM free deal - this is why. Purchased!
Same price on Amazon

Same price on Amazon

Not direct from Amazon though, via other sellers only. So you wouldn't qualify for the Huawei cashback.
Unless I'm misreading the T&C's, the cashback is only available to business customers purchasing through their business accounts.

I think it's saying if you're a business customer, there are only certain business suppliers you can use for the cashback to be eligible. If you're not a business customer you're fine to use any of the qualifying suppliers - so if you're a business customer, the cashback wouldn't be eligible for purchasing from Clove, only those listed.

And there is the point.
Looks like someone understand it.
I have the P30 Pro and believe it is the best all round phone in the UK market at under £600. To get it for £430 is a bargain. My only hesitation is whether the Mate 20X 5G at £307 on the O2 refresh deal is better value. In my view, it all depends on whether you can live with the bigger phone and slightly poorer battery life.

That is a good deal as well but the phone is massive and the cameras are not the same level as here.

Agreed on the size - not everyone could live with it. Regarding the cameras, yes, the P30 Pro is better but not by as big a degree as you may imagine. For most people, I think they would be happy with either camera (I have both and so have been able to make direct comparisons). Personally, I couldn't live with the size of the Mate 20X and so it has to be the P30 Pro (The Mate 20X is destined for my son).
prettejohn02/03/2020 17:35

Why does anyone need 256Gb?

With the single sim model - to some degree you don't because you can add a big memory card for music etc. I've got a 256gb card in my 32gb Lg G6 and the card is over a half full.

I'm looking for the dual sim option which uses the memory card slot if used, so really want more internal memory if possible.
Also, on that; any good deals on a dual sim, ideally a 256gb or 512gb model?
Anyone's been dispatched?

Anyone's been dispatched?

Yes - despatched Wednesday, delivered Thursday. Loving the phone so far, although had a P20 Pro before so kind of knew what to expect!

I emailed them Wednesday morning to find out when my phone was likely to be shipped, and had an email back within a couple of hours confirming UPS tracking details. I don't know if my email prompted them to send the phone, so maybe worth you doing the same of you've not heard from them yet?

Also, looks like the price of this phone from Clove has now been put back up, so this deal has expired.
They are clearly ordering these when sold. no psysicall stock.

I ordered Monday, delivered Thursday (after chasing them Wednesday). Can't fault the service as delivered via trackable UPS and phone is great.
Anyone got recommendations for a good flip case and also a back cover (mine is black - Fonehouse deal)?

Amazing phone and loving it.
