Heat as it beats the previous best price of £575 I paid in June. Bear in mind you may have to wait three weeks for delivery like I did though.

I'm very sure, thanks. Do you have the phone? I do unfortunately and I really think the hype and reviews for it are far too generous. I feel like I've taken a step back after I swapped a Google Pixel XL for the P30 Pro. It's slower, the battery is no better, the OS is an eyesore at the best of times and the camera is overrated.

I quite like emui, the camera is the best in class, and battery life phenomenal. Maybe you should sell up and get the pixel 4?

Did you have the original XL? I'm torn between waiting for the Pixel 4 and this deal. I have an LG G6 at the mo and do miss the stock Google UI

Yeah I had the OG XL, if you could I would advise you to try the both phones out for a little while before making a choice.

If it's anything like the mate 20 pro the camera is good at certain things but disappointing in others.. video especially bad.
Mate 20 couldn't touch the pixel 2 for getting photos of anything moving. Shutter lag dumps you with a blurry photo. Selfie camera pretty bad, smeary, soft image. Sold the mate for double and went back to pixel 2. Shame, was well excited with all the added versatility.
How do people actually find the cameras on the P30 pro?
I keep reading about problems with shutter lag and strange software processing resulting in artifacting and wrong colours.
I'm dying to replace my old LG G6 which doesn't have a zoom, slows and locks up every now and then and battery life is shot.

I find the camera great at times, but is there any way to stop the rubbish bokeh effect it applies to any close up shot, adding unwanted blur to everything outside of the centre of the pic? I've tried Googling this but haven't found a solution. The super macro mode removes the blur
but there seems to be a lot more noise when using that mode.

Not that I've found on my mate 20x no, they obviously still haven't sorted it on the p30 series.

I don't find it a hindrance as such, maybe they've ramped it up a bit on the p30 pro, I only had a little bit of hands on time with it tbh.

I did find it a pain when trying to take pics of my Xperia 1 to sell eBay, and it couldn't do a close up, detailed shot of it without blurring parts of the phone not dead centre. But yeah, for other things I do find the camera great. Really wish I'd had this phone and its 5x zoom for my recent holiday in Yellowstone!

That's how high Pixel left camera experience bar (with only one lens at rear). Proof that quality matters more than lens quantity, for all the hype about versatility. Even Pixel's digital zoom was pretty good, watch out now with a dedicated second lens on 4th gen.

That said, amazing too what Leica, a German company, achieved so far for Huawei. 2nd best camera algorithm to Huawei's credit

I am really struggling to find a new phone at the minute because to be honest no android fits my requirements of a best in class camera and good software pixel 3 seems to have bad ram management issues which is a bummer so the only phone that fits the bill is the iPhone 11 but the bezels look too big lol I'm just too hard to please

Can't justify spending £800 on a phone that will be £450 this time next year, at least iPhones hold their value.

You need to turn off AI. It’ll still do some background image stacking.
I’ve had the Mate 20 Pro and I currently own the P30 Pro (as well as an iPhone 11 Pro Max). I’ve taken some really nice photos on the P30 Pro but on the whole I find it to be an exceptionally unreliable snapper: it often gets white balance completely wrong (especially in low light) resulting in a horrible image cast; it’s dreadful at capturing moving or spontaneous subjects compared with other devices such as the Pixel 3 and S10 (which I have also owned this year) and the AI effects are at best unnecessary and at worst destructive. Unfortunately you can’t ‘reverse’ things like the Portrait effect like you can on some other devices. The zoom is fun but actually is too much zoom IMO If you like taking mainly people shops. As soon as you hit the 5X button you’re practically looking up their nostrils, and if you use 3X you’re using a cropped image from the main sensor instead of telephoto. Huawei claims to use data from both lenses in this mode but comparisons between the (3X) P30 and the (5X) P30 Pro clearly demonstrate a massive drop in quality between the P30 Pro and the P30 when the Pro uses 3X mode.

I have to say though, battery life is the best I’ve had on a phone.

People get bedazzled by number of pixels but tbh after certain number it doesn't matter. This is where the pixel phone do matter they are faster and more reliable.
