Huawei P8 Lite £79 on Vodafone PYG

the new lowest price for their Lite version!

There is a 'Keep Existing SIM' option at the bottom of the 'Bundles' page, which allows you to purchase a PAYG phone without a top-up. Unfortunately Vodafone now hides this button a few seconds after the page has loaded. You have to be quick to click the button, if you miss it simply hit F5 or the 'Refresh' button on your browser to reload the 'Bundles' page and try again.

Also available to buy instore, but you will have to buy topup there, Quidco provides 3% cashback for purchase instore though (if you registered your card with them and activated their promotion).

For those struggling to get it at 79 & keep existing sim option:

1: Follow hukd link above, add the handset to your basket
2: Open a NEW tab and copy and paste this link into the tab
and visit it ONCE
shop.vodafone.co.uk/sho…203
3: Go back to your original cart tab, refresh the page and buy it for 79 ;-)

Another way to "catch" the keep existing sim button is to use Firefox, click "View - Page Style - No Style" and the text page appears. The button doesn't disappear. Ctrl-F to search for "Keep" and job done. I'm sure other browsers may have this feature, but I have checked this in Firefox on a Mac and it works.
Your very helpful so i vote hot. BTW it comes up as £79 on your link

Really great wee android phone for the money, and design and build wise, miles better than the comparable samsung etc at the same sort of price. Hot.
Great find op , been looking at this phone for a while.
Nice find with the keep existing sim too

Worked for me thanks, collect in store today. ;-)
Good price but I have one of these & hate it. Poor screen, laggy UI & very average battery life.
"keep sim" is there at the bottom. you have about 1 second to click on it. Its between the £30 big bundle and the footer menu. Scroll down to the bottom then hit F5. Position the mouse just right & click ASAP when it appears after refreshing. When it works the screen will refresh itself and go to the top of the page and the "go to basket" will be coloured in. Bit tricky, but worth it
Thinking of getting this for my mum. In terms of comparing this with a Samsung which Samsung would you compare this with? as i was thinking of getting the Samsung j5, but this looks like a good handset. Which handset would you go for?

Hi. Can you send me a link for unlock please
Great phone for the money. Had to get a new handset mid contract and paid £109 for a P8 Lite from CPW not entirely sure it was going to that great - not disappointed. For a budget phone I was surprised by the build quality and performance, all in all a result

Mine came unlocked but it might be worth trying this:

I have this phone using it now to type this. Having previously had 3 huawei and being a fan of the brand I went for. This but honestly not hugely I'm pressed.. It's 9k and does it's job but I wouldn't say it feels smooth or slick to operate, definitely some lag.
I paid £99 for this phone about a month ago. Its really not bad for the money but no app drawer till I installed Nova Launcher. £79 is a proper bargain

The J5 is a brilliant phone with a better screen (Super Amoled vs IPS), also offers a removable battery and... well, it's Samsung. I mean, as a brand that's got to count for something.

The Huawei, however, offers something that "unfortunately" trumps the screen/battery which is 16GB storage.
The J5 is only available in 8GB and even with a memory card, chances are she'll complain down the line when she realises the phone doesn't stop bothering her about being almost out of storage.

I made the same mistake with my mom when I got her a Moto G (1st gen) and she's not savvy or has a lot of apps or anything, but 8GB storage these days just isn't enough.

I'm getting this one for that reason and whether you pick the P8 Lite or a different one, I just urge you not to make the same mistake I did (and that was almost two years ago).

Hope that helped.

Have now bought this , can any users comment how much storage is left after taking in the stock rom.
Apart from the storage issue, is M4 Aqua better than this?
If you click 'keep my existing sim' like I managed to, will the phone be unlocked??
As above can this phone be unlocked?
Good Price. Nice Find.
At CPW it is £80 on Upgrade. unlocked. got it Last week.
Does it come with bloat ware?
Would this work with google cardboard?

To get the unread notifications in Nova Launcher you need the (paid for) Prime version and the separate Tesla Unread app.

That's what put me off before as price had gone up and you need vodafone sim number to upgrade. This deal is cheaper and no need to put details in but it will be locked unlike cpw deal.
tom6195

Yes - comes with loads of games & pointless apps - but most can be uninstalled.

One thing huawei has no other android phones have is able to use micro sd card as main memory, so don't need to root or use app to sd.

For Lag: Do this:

Hit settings - > Power Savings > Turn OFF "Smart"

Turn ON "Normal"

Smart, reduces your CPU and causes Lag

Turn ON: Double Tap to wake

Samsung are far and away the most complained about phone on tech forums
the acronym thrown around all over the place is 'POS'
use your imagination if you don't already know that one

love the look of the P8, but I have read horrible things about the battery, which rules it out for me.

Lol I think I worked out the "POS" quite quick. This phone is the P8 lite from what I have read when researching completely different to the original P8 when it comes to the battery apparently it lasts well on this phone.
Amazing phone!

It's on normal.
I use smart app unlock to lock certain apps, have don't on all my phones. But with the p8 lite it opens the app and there's a. Delay of like 10 secs before the appointment lock screen comes up. all my other phones been about 2 second or less delay. And that's including the p6 and the rest kestrel both older versions of huawei phones hence I can't understand why this newer one is lagging with thee same app
I wasn't seeing it but then pressed F11 to increase my screen size and it appeared. You have to be quick though.

I used Google Chrome btw

Yes, I know Samsung is most-hated in the tech community. I was referring to Samsung's warranty, customer service, etc.
Ask hunter1234's mom if she's heard of Huawei before and if she'd trust it more as a brand than Samsung.
The phone - I'm assuming - isn't exactly for a tech savvy user (or else they'd probably be willing to spend more money on one and get something better, and even know what to get for themselves in the first place), so based on who it's for, the tech community's gripes about how Samsung is this and that means absolutely nothing to the matter at hand.
really good phone for the money
To view the Free Sim option you can right click and inspect element underneath the last bundle.
Simple remove style="display: none;" from div class="row similar-products" style="display: none;"

It'll then show.
