They changed the minimum top-up value. Thanks EE.

So they did, what a sneaky move!.. But I guess it's still a good deal even then!.. With just an online application for an unlock code from EE through your new EE registered SIM account you can get you unlock code for I believe is £8.99 which is taken from your top up ( takes up to 10 days for them to reply and send and unlock code via text ) on the new SIM or less than £4 on the evilbay... I believe they're £200+ unlocked every else!..

Bought this the other day online. It's actually free to unlock. I've already arranged it and confirm no fee. ee.co.uk/hel…ice

Excellent!.. I wasn't sure if that was true as the clerk told thanks for the link will it would be free when the laws regarding SIM unlocking have been changed but he know when that would be, but I guess that's already a moot point now

Thanks for the link!.. Will try and get right on to unlocking mine over the blower instead of waiting for their reply over text...

yes it is best in its price range my personal opinion I have got one already. I'm always used flagship phones. this is a really good mobile phone.

How does this compare to the Moto G4 Plus? Have been looking at that on Amazon @£184 so this is a bit cheaper plus also has NFC and a Compass. Can't see either what memory this 'Lite' version has, the standard is 3GB but being lite this could have easily been cut down.

Finally the £20 on top of price has £10 taken out for a 'Pack' which i'm assumiung is basically a 1 month rolling contract that would need cancelling ??

Cheers.

I prefer the clean Android version the Moto G has. That's one of the reasons I didn't consider this. I always check XDA before purchasing one.

Anyone having issues with Android Pay? Not working on mine had to send a bug report to Google.

Just purchased from EE in Canterbury, their price tags still say only £10 topup, and that was all they charged me. So got it for £129.99+£10. Assistant said there was about a week left with it at this price.

Purchased yesterday from Watford charged me £20 top up even though I have been with EE since September. Good phone though great call quality much better than Moto G4 and XStyle. EE told me that there is a 3 year warranty with this model yet to test that though. Anyway spoke to EE and they are now going to transfer my £20 PAYG sim money to my sim only pay monthly account as a credit. We shall see but good news if that happens. Not bothered yet about the unlocking code.

I have tried the Plus and it works well on everything except phone calls at least with the EE network. The call quality is quite poor (very distorted at higher frequencies in fact I tried 3, all the same) and I returned mine because of it. The P9 Lite is vastly better as well as having a 2 year guarantee and a better camera (again not something the G4 Plus is that good on). The Moto is bigger though. The speed is about the same possibly better on the P9 Lite and that has 3gb ram against 2. Battery life is superb on the Huawei as is the screen. Depends whether you want a breathed on Android device cant say I am that bothered. Also the G4Plus will get Nougat not sure about the P9 Lite.

On the topup I am unsure mine doesn't appear to be on a rolling contract but that may well be because I am already an EE Customer. EE service is not the best but then again no worse than the other big providers.

3 year warranty included. I presume you get the Huawei VIP Service. Anyone know for sure? Thanks OP
