Huawei Watch 2 Classic Smartwatch - Titanium Grey £259 Lightning Deal @ Amazon

Found 12th Feb
Been waiting for this to come down to a reasonable price, since I decided to replace my Samsung Gear S3. Wanted something that worked as a fitness tracker and a daily wear for work, that was also Google Wear, as I didn't get on with Tizen and SVoice.

On a lightning deal but at time of posting still stock available.

Nice looking watch- shame it's a smart watch really, as I've no interest in them. Saying that, if I was I'd probably get one that looked like this.
@breadmaker6 is your Samsung Gear S3 not already a superior and better smartwatch than the Huawei Watch 2 Classic?

Just wondering what the advantages would be
I have this watch the 4g version I'm very happy with it, love it....

I'd be interested to hear more about the switch. I'm waiting for the Samsung Gear s3 to price drop. Decided against Huawei because heard it can be slow. I'm quite interested in the Ticwatch but it lacks NFC.

Loved the Gear S3 look, build etc but the software was shocking for what I need. I use voice for sms messages etc and quick info whilst I'm in the car and on my bike. Samsung SVoice is awful. I had a Sony SW3 before and it was far better. So bee looking for a watch that offers both looks and Google OS.

I can give you a bit more info on this as I have the Samsung gear s3 and the huawei watch 2.
The watch 2 run everything perfectly once feel the wear app was installed. I got every notification perfectly. I wanted this watch for work so I purchased the gear s3 for when I was not working.
Since I have owned the s3 I have spend more time on Google trying to sort out issues and why this don't work and why that don't work.
Notifications are hit and miss, sometimes they display other times they don't. Gmail does notify but only by display only without vibration. Fitness in the g3 seems pretty solid.
Overall I think I prefer the look of the g3 but I much prefer how the huawei works and responds.
Like I said the g3 is hit and miss just take a look on Google.
Also Samsung pay is not compatible with my bank.....

The huawei watch 2 has a lot going for - Stock Android so better app support, in build NFC, and GPS which some others dont (eg Asus) , supports Google Assistant and Android pay. Compatible with Oreo if your phone has it. On the downside I wish the dial rotated like the S3 does to quickly move through apps. Long 2 day battery life.

Yes I have one (cause I wanted android pay, gps, and Google assistant), no it's not perhaps as pretty as some of the others - I have the sport and had to fit a new strap to improve it (but there are 100s of compatible straps and personally I think the black metal one looks fine.) I would have preferred the Classic but at the time it was much more expensive, till I paid £175 for the Sport and I am not sure the Classic is worth another £84. But on this deal the classic better priced than the sport !

Have you tried anything else other than the ticwatch. As I like the g3 size but not the system.

I've had the Moto sport and the G3. I bought the Ticwatch not expecting much, but it's great. Lovely screen, GPS gets a fix quickly too. Using the watch just as a step counter to replace my Fitbit, I get 4 days on the battery. Switch everything on including Bluetooth and WiFi, and I get over a day.

What happened to your g3?
Does it do all notifications on the tic?
Many thanks

Returned it. Couldn't get on with tizen.
Anyone tried the xiaomi amazfit pace I'm thinking of the new version of it called Stratos and how it compares to android Wear. My main issue with android Wear is the battery life.

Thanks all, reason asked is getting the LG Watch Sport ((latest one)) for someone and now thinking that the HW2C is a better buy!

I think it depends what you want it for. If your into sport then its blows all the androidwear watches out of the water, but it is bigger and isnt so hot on the notifications - you can respond. You also cant load very many apks.

Re. LG watch sport, its not being released in UK (unless they've changed their mind in the last month).

What's the build quality like? How does it feel on the wrist? How does it compare to the gear S3? I'm very tempted. I really want nfc but I don't think a good watch with all the features I want will be out in the next 12 months. I've ruled out the Huawei 2, I was holding out for the Samsung s3 price drop but the more I hear, the more I'm put off.

The only thing I didn't like was the strap, and have replaced it with a divers watch strap.
Ive got an average size wrist, and it doesn't look like a frisbee. Build quality is good, obviously it isn't £300 quality, but I like it . Everything works as it should and the Ticwatch fitness app is good. I like the fact that ok Google, and Gmail work independently off any WiFi you have connected to and don't need your phone connected.
Best to check YouTube for reviews.
How do you get apps like Gmail, whatsapp and Facebook etc on the watch 2 as I sent mine back to Amazon. I wasn't getting notifications and saw no browser to add the apps through apks. Shame as I really wanted it but if anyone can tell me how I'll order again when I see it on a lightning deal
I have this. Pros, 2 day life in real world, love android pay, love the health stats though a combo of Google fit and Huawei is better, fast charge (like 10minutes fast). Cons, on occasions can be slow to 'wake up', not the prettiest and my mates all take the pi55 cause they think it was £5 from ebay.
